March 01, 2010

Port Charles Highway [Lucky's Car]
Lucky is driving to the courthouse since he is convinced a crime will be committed.
Lucky: I'm en route to check out a possible crime in progress. Yeah. Okay. I will.

Outside Port Charles Courthouse
Outside the building, Sam and Jason discuss breaking Sonny out during his transport to jail. They wish each other good luck.
Jason: Are you set on what to do?
Sam: Create a diversion while you break out Sonny.
Jason: Okay, I just want you to be careful. I don't want you to get arrested as an accessory.
Sam: Hey, no, no, no. We'll cross that bridge if we have to.
Jason: Okay.
Sam: I know.
[Jason and Sam kiss]
Sam: Good luck.
Jason: You, too.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
As Judge Carroll speaks to the court, Carly hurries in and announces that Sonny isn’t being treated fairly by the justice system.
Judge Carroll: Please sit. I have one last matter to address before announcing my decision on bail for Mr. Corinthos. I wanna make it clear that I'm not gonna tolerate anything--
Carly: Your Honor! I object! This hearing isn't about justice. This is about my husband, Jasper Jacks, getting revenge against my ex-husband, Sonny Corinthos.

[OPENING CREDITS]

Outside Port Charles Warehouse
Ethan and Johnny are hiding behind some crates at the Corinthos warehouse. Sonny’s men are shooting in their direction. Ethan can’t believe that Johnny tried to seize one of Sonny’s shipments. Johnny wants to send a clear message to Sonny. Ethan and Johnny argue about the best way to escape.
[Gunfire]
Ethan: All right, let me get this straight. You raided a Corinthos shipment without making a plan?
Johnny: Yeah. I'm good at thinkin' on my feet.
Ethan: Do you at least know where the exits are?
Johnny: Yeah. There are 2 behind the shooters, one to the left. I know every inch of this warehouse, inside and out.
[Gunfire]
Johnny: Would have gone off like clockwork, except for one small glitch.
Ethan: How small?
Johnny: Sonny's guys were expecting me.
Ethan: Okay, not to sound critical, but your plan seems a bit haphazard.
[Gunfire]
Johnny: Okay, why don't you find a way to distract Sonny's guys like you did last time?
Ethan: Okay, 2 reasons that won't work. First of all, last time was an accident, and I told you not to count on me.
Johnny: Well, I'm not counting on you. I wasn't counting on you. I might as well now, though. So you're here. You might as well make a contribution.
Ethan: Okay, gladly, but you gotta run these guys off first.
Johnny: You want me to run 'em off? What, you didn't come armed?
Ethan: No. I'm not a big believer in firearms, okay? I'm gonna have to contribute some other way.
Johnny: Yeah.
[Gunfire]
Johnny: Yeah, I'm thinkin' more like a human shield this time. Or...
Ethan: Oh, no. There's no way you can hit that crate from here. It'll just be--
Johnny: Let's go.
Ethan: Hold on. Not so fast.
[Crashing]

Inside Shadybrook Mental Hospital
Elizabeth is staring out the window from her room at Shadybrook. Nikolas enters the room with Cameron and Jake. Elizabeth is thrilled to see her children. Elizabeth hugs Cam and Jake. Liz notices that the boys have made pictures for their mother. Nikolas replies that he is filling in for Audrey. Cameron asks when Liz is going to be released.
[Knock on door]
Elizabeth: Yes?
Nikolas: Hi. Uh, you've got some visitors here.
Elizabeth: Oh, my goodness. You guys. What are you doing here? Oh, I'm so glad to see you. Jake, come give mommy a hug. I have missed you guys so much. Hi. Oh, I miss you. I miss you.
Cameron: We miss you, too.
Elizabeth: Are these for me? Did you guys make these? Let me see.
Cameron: Yes.
Elizabeth: Oh, you guys are beautiful. Thank you. Whose idea was this to surprise mommy? Was it Uncle Nikolas'?
Nikolas: It was actually their idea. Your grandmother couldn't bring 'em, so I volunteered.
Cameron: Mommy, when are you coming home?

Outside Port Charles Courthouse
Jason is about to drive away when Lucky shows up and asks to look at Jason’s driver’s license. A siren can be heard in the distance. Lucky glances at Jason’s vehicle registration papers. Lucky makes small talk about Sonny’s arraignment. Lucky implies that this would be the ideal time to get Sonny out of the country. Jason remains silent.
[Lucky knocks on Jason Car window]
Lucky: This isn't what you usually drive.
Jason: Yeah. It's a loaner.
Lucky: I need to see license and registration.
Jason: What's goin' on?
Lucky: License and registration.
Jason: Like, really?
Lucky: Yep.
[Sirens passing]
[Jason sighs]
Lucky: I guess you heard Sonny pulled Judge Carroll. Guy's been away from district court for a while, went back to teaching college in California. Now he's back. Got a reputation as a tough jurist, no sentimentality, cuts to the chase.
Jason: Registration.
Lucky: Thank you. And there's a new prosecutor, Claire Walsh. Step out of the car, please.
Jason: Is everything in order?
Lucky: I understand Sonny's bail is about to be revoked, and now I find you parked adjacent to the courthouse. Probably thinkin' now's the best time to break him out, right? Before all the security's in place. Prisoners are usually brought out a side entrance, but I'm sure you worked somethin' out. You'll decoy the guards, drive Sonny the hell out of here.
Jason: Wastin' your time.
Lucky: Well, we'll just have to wait and see.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
Surprisingly, the judge is willing to hear what Carly has to say. Claire is outraged. Carly explains who she is – Sonny’s ex-wife and mother to two of his children. Carly adds that she is married to Jasper Jacks. The judge is impressed by Carly’s concern for Sonny. Claire interrupts and says that Carly’s statement has nothing to do with the matter at hand. Judge Carroll thanks Carly for being candid. The judge asks Sonny why he should be released on bail.
Alexis: Your Honor, I object.
Judge Carroll: Ms. Davis, this woman is not an attorney. She has no standing before this court, so how can you object?
Carly: I guarantee you, sir, that what I have to say is vital to these proceedings.
Judge Carroll: I'd like to hear this.
Lulu: Can he do that?
Dante: He's the judge. He can do whatever he wants.
Alexis: Your Honor, this is an arraignment. She can't just walk in here off the street and start saying--
Judge Carroll: Ms. Davis, I am the judge in charge of this trial. This is my courtroom, and I decide who speaks and who doesn’t. Proceed. State your name for the record.
Carly: Carly Jacks, Mrs. Jasper Jacks, formerly Mrs. Sonny Corinthos. Sonny is the father of my 2 children, and I'm now married to Jasper Jacks, and we have a wonderful life, and we have a beautiful baby girl, and I wish that I could say things were amicable, but they're not. Sonny and Jax have hated each other for years, and for some reason, now Jax has this idea in his head that the only way he can keep our family safe is if Sonny's in prison.
Judge Carroll: Are you saying that Mr. Jacks falsified evidence?
Carly: No. No, it's nothing like that. I'm saying that Jax is very rich and powerful, and lots of people are anxious to impress him.
Judge Carroll: If you're suggesting that I might be swayed by your husband's wealth, power, or status, I can assure you I am not.
Carly: No, I'm not talking about you. I am talking about a lot of other people, starting with the police, all the way--
Claire: Your Honor, if I may interject, Mrs. Jacks' statement has nothing whatsoever to do with the proceedings.
Judge Carroll: No, you may not interject. However, I agree with the prosecutor. Thank you, Mrs. Jacks, for your obviously heartfelt statement, but the matter at hand is whether or not Mr. Corinthos should be out on bail. Before I announce my decision, I would like to hear from Mr. Corinthos himself.

Inside Jake's
At Jake’s, Patrick and Lisa talk openly about Robin. Patrick wants to be honest with his wife but doesn’t know how to be emotionally supportive in regards to Robin’s HIV. Patrick says that Robin puts up a “barrier” when speaking about her past. Lisa brings up the time when she and Patrick were dating. Coleman pipes in and asks if they want more beer. Lisa suggests a pitcher of beer, which makes Patrick smile. Patrick, Lisa and Coleman start a game of darts.
Patrick: I don't wanna sound like I'm complaining about my marriage, because I'm not. That's not--
Lisa: You and Robin are obviously happy.
Patrick: Yeah. You know, we are. And I thought in the beginning, HIV was gonna be more of a roadblock, but it's been the opposite for us. It's forced us to be open and honest and not only about the statistical realities, but the emotional parts of it. And the way Robin lives her life with HIV, it's amazing. It's just--
Lisa: It's just what?
Patrick: There's a barrier between Robin's life with me in the present and her past.
Lisa: Well, come on. I mean, we all have a past. I mean, have you told Robin about all your frat-house parties? Limbo night? Beer bongs?
Patrick: Honestly, I have.
Lisa: All right, what about the time when you got locked out of our hotel room naked? The ice machine was just in the hallway, and you--
Patrick: Well, I didn't know the door was gonna close that quickly.
Lisa: Oh, obviously you didn’t.
Patrick: Well, obviously. And thanks again for opening it as I'm standing there naked in the hallway.
Lisa: Oh, the music was blasting.
Patrick: Loud enough for the neighbors to call the manager and almost throw me in jail for standin' there naked.
Lisa: Yeah, just as I opened the door in my birthday suit.
Patrick: That's the only thing that kept me out of jail. He liked that part.
[Lisa laughs]
Patrick: Ah, gosh.
Coleman: Oh, good to hear signs of life over there. I was about to break out the old defib machine.
Lisa: All right, we will have a pitcher of beer.
Coleman: Ah.
Patrick: And some more darts, please.
Coleman: What, a battle of the surgeons?
Lisa: Oh, we need a third. Otherwise we're gonna kill each other. Come on. Coleman, join us.
Coleman: You guys go ahead. Girl, I got a bar to tend.
Lisa: What, are you scared we'll beat you?
Coleman: In my own bar? Never happen.
[Lisa clucking]
Coleman: All right, you know what? Now you're askin' for it.
Patrick: If that's not enough...
Lisa: All right, bring it on. Bring it on. Bring it on.
Coleman: "Bring it on," is right.
Lisa: Yeah.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
The judge asks Sonny why he should be released on bail. Sonny speaks warmly of his children. Sonny wants to spend quality time with Michael, Morgan, Kristina and even Dante. Dante cringes at the thought.
Judge Carroll: Tell me, Mr. Corinthos, why should you remain free on bail when you clearly have the resources to flee the country.
Sonny: Well, Your Honor, I would be a flight risk if my life was about money and buying things, but it's not. My kids mean everything to me, and I try to be a good father, and I'll continue to try, because my kids are what make my life worth living. I would never leave them. I helped raise 2 of my boys, and I'm very proud of them. And I got a daughter who I wish I had spent more time in her life, but I think that's gonna change. She's a beautiful little girl, smart, and her mother's done a great job at raising her. I wanna spend time with all my children, and that includes Officer Falconeri, who I just recently found out that he's my son. I don't want to run away. I just wanna clear my name so I can spend time with my family.
[Dante Cringes]

Outside Port Charles Courthouse
Lucky mentions that the arraignment should be over by now. Jason tries to persuade Lucky to leave. Lucky says he would rather work than go to Shadybrook. Lucky wants to stay away from Elizabeth since he is still angry about the affair.
Lucky: This doesn't bode well for Sonny. Hearing should have been over by now.
Jason: No reason for you to stick around.
Lucky: You don't think so?
Jason: I mean, you gotta have better things to do than...
Lucky: No, not really. To be honest, I was kind of relieved when I realized you'd be trying to break Sonny out. Gives me an excuse to not go up to Shadybrook and have to deal with Elizabeth. Still haven't wrapped my mind around this baby she's expecting. I mean, could be mine, but let's be honest. It's most likely Nikolas'. You gotta love the irony, talkin' to you, of all people, about Elizabeth's affair.
Jason: I mean, I don't know what I'm supposed to do. If I try anything, I feel like I'm gonna make things worse, but if you disagree, if you think there's something I can do to help...
Lucky: Thank you. The only thing I am clear on right now is that even if this baby is Nikolas' child, Cam and Jake are still my kids.

Inside Shadybrook Mental Hospital
Visibly upset, Elizabeth tells Cam that she is going to have a baby so that’s why she’s at the hospital. Elizabeth enjoys a short visit with her sons. When Cameron and Jake leave the room, Elizabeth thanks Nik for bringing the boys. Elizabeth surprises Nikolas when she asks him to stop by after dropping off the boys at Audrey’s.
Elizabeth: Guys, I have some happy news.
Cameron: What?
Elizabeth: Mommy's gonna have a baby. Can you believe it? At the end of summer, you guys are gonna have a little brother or a little sister. Yay.
Cameron: Yay. Wait. Is that why you're here, Mom? Are you sick?
Elizabeth: Um, no, no, baby. I'm not. I'm not sick. I'm just really tired right now. That's why I'm here. I'm tired, and I just need to rest, but I'm gonna come home really soon, and until then, you can come see me whenever you want, and we're gonna talk on the phone every day, okay?
Cameron: Okay.
Elizabeth: Like tomorrow, I need to hear all about your field trip to the aquarium, okay?
Cameron: Okay.
Elizabeth: Okay.
Nikolas: Yeah, boys, Mommy's tired. Should we let her rest? Hmm? I'll bring you back soon. Is that okay?
Elizabeth: Hey, come give me hugs.
Nikolas: Give Mommy--
Elizabeth: Thank you so much, you guys, for coming. You made my day. I love you so, so much. Give me hugs, Jakey. I love you.
Nikolas: Give Mommy a hug. Ready? Come on. I got your coats. Let's go. Bye.
Elizabeth: Nikolas.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Elizabeth: Thank you for bringing them by.
Nikolas: I'm glad it made you happy.
Elizabeth: Can you come back after you drop 'em off?
Nikolas: Of course. I'd like that.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
In the courtroom, Judge Carroll is about to make his decision regarding bail. The judge says that Carly’s outburst was uncalled for, but appreciates her honesty. Everyone is shocked when Judge Carroll announces that Sonny is free on bail. Claire looks defeated. The judge says that the trial will begin in two weeks.
Judge Carroll: Before I announce my ruling on Mr. Corinthos' bail, I must address the matter of Mrs. Jacks' courtroom theatrics. The fact that I allowed you to speak is not to be construed as tacit approval for your conduct. As for co-counsel for the defense, using this courtroom to work out your personal business will not be tolerated. Get your act together before trial, or one of you goes. Now, Ms. Walsh has argued quite compellingly that Mr. Corinthos' resources make him a flight risk. That said, Mr. Corinthos has done nothing to violate the terms of his existing bail, and it would be prejudicial to lock him up without cause. Michael Corinthos Jr., you will remain free on bail. Trial is set for 2 weeks from today. Court is dismissed.
Claire: Well, you know you guys got lucky this time. Yeah.
Alexis: It's called due process.
Claire: You know, I found this arraignment to be very educational. Thanks for that. It will help me prepare for the trial.
[Diane laughs]

Carly: Boy, that's a relief, huh?
Sonny: Yeah.
Carly: I don't want you to worry about anything. Everything is gonna be okay. It's gonna be okay.

Outside Port Charles Courthouse
Outside, Lucky and Jason continue to talk. Lucky brings up his enjoyment with playing toy cars with Jake. Jason is teary-eyed. Jason wonders what happens next in regards to Elizabeth. Lucky doesn’t know if he has a future with Elizabeth. Lucky worries about the boys. Jason thanks Lucky for playing an important role in Jake’s life. Jason promises not to judge Lucky or his decisions. Sam shows up and announces that Sonny is free on bail. Lucky is amused by the news.
Lucky: Now, when you agreed to let me be Jake’s dad, I know you had certain expectations.
Jason: You love Jake. You're a good father to him. Those were my only expectations.
Lucky: Oh. Look, whatever Elizabeth and I are going through, Jake needs consistency. That's what I'm tryin' to give him. He's obsessed with these toy trucks right now. He's already got, like, 20 of 'em. He rolls 'em around the house all the time and wants me to play with him. There's this particular blue one that's his favorite, and he always gives me the other ones, you know, the red or the yellow, and he makes me race it against his blue one. And he always wins, of course. He's a good kid, Jason. He's such a good kid. I mean, he's been a joy since the day he was born.
Jason: So what happens next?
Lucky: That's what I'm tryin' to figure out. I know Elizabeth thinks that she needs me. I don't know, man. But I'm gonna do the right thing for the boys and for Elizabeth, try not to choke on it.
Jason: I'm not in a position to give advice, so...
Lucky: Nah, feel free. Everyone else does.
Jason: I would just say tell the truth. Lying is how we all got here. It's okay. I know you're gonna do right by the kids.
[Footsteps]
Sam: Hey. Sorry I'm late.
Jason: Yeah. I mean, what took you so long?
Sam: It doesn't matter. Look, it's a good thing we decided to meet here. Sonny, he's still free on bail.
Lucky: Wow. That's quite a coincidence. You agreed to meet Jason right outside the courthouse just as Sonny's havin' his arraignment.
Sam: Yeah. Heh. I know.
Lucky: Well, I guess we should be grateful. It's the little things, right?

Inside Jake's
Patrick, Lisa and Coleman start a game of darts.
Lisa: Ah, wait. Watch and learn.
[Laughs]
Patrick: No offense, darlin', but you throw like a little girl.
Coleman: Ignore him. He's just tryin' to throw you off your game.
Patrick: Whose side are you on?
Coleman: I'm on hers.
Patrick: Coleman, you were the best man at my--
Lisa: Whoo!
Coleman: Oh, bull's-eye!
Patrick: Give me a break.
Coleman: Sweet throw, chicken little.
Lisa: Why, thank you, Coleman.
Coleman: Loser drinks.
[Patrick laughs]
Patrick: Finally. It's about time. I had to throw the game in order to get a sip of beer around here.
Coleman: Drink up, dog.
Lisa: Yeah, Patrick is always such a sore loser. He used to say that he lost because he pulled an all-nighter or the sun was in his eyes or he was wearin' the wrong shades. It was bad.
Patrick: Scoreboard. That's all I'm gonna say. What's the score there? Can you tell me?
Coleman: Let's see. You beat me by 5.
Patrick: Mmm.
Coleman: And Lisa by, ooh, only 2.
Patrick: Ooh.
Coleman: Not exactly what you'd call decisive.
Patrick: I would say a win is a win.
Coleman: Okay, the light was in my eyes, I am overworked, and my bra is way too tight.
Patrick: Really?
Coleman: Hey, try that one next time.
Patrick: I have. It sucks.
Lisa: Okay, I am going to challenge you to the ultimate surgeons showdown.
Patrick: What's that?
Lisa: Loser has to do an up and over.
Coleman: Ooh, sweet. Wait. What's an up and over?
Lisa: Oh, you'll see when I whip Patrick’s butt.
Patrick: You're on.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
Diane and Alexis speak briefly about the case. Jax confronts Carly about supporting Sonny. Jax doesn’t want anything to do with Carly. Lulu gets a phone call so she leaves the courtroom. Sonny approaches Dante. Sonny says he meant what he said about getting to know him. Dante gives Sonny the cold shoulder. Sonny and Carly are talking when Claire interrupts. Claire says that she’ll be sending Sonny to prison. Lulu asks Dante if he is okay. Dante seems rattled by his short talk with Sonny. As they leave the courtroom, Claire confronts the couple.
Alexis: As much as I hate to admit it, Ms. Walsh was correct. We got lucky.
Diane: She actually believes the arraignment was educational. She thinks that now she knows exactly what our--my strategy is with a couple of hours of observation.
Alexis: Diane, this is exactly what she wants. She wants to get under your skin.
Diane: Claire Walsh wants to play mind games, she just met the master.
Alexis: The key is to win this case, and the way to do that is to not play into her hands. See you later.
Diane: Bye.

Jax: Well, you certainly left no question on where you stand.
Carly: You know I love you, but I'm not gonna stand by and watch you use your influences to railroad Sonny.
Jax: Oh, come on. Sonny's a killer. I don't hear you denying that, so please spare me the lecture on ethical behavior.

Lulu: So how do you feel about Sonny staying out on bail?
Dante: Ah, it doesn't matter. He'll be convicted soon enough.
Lulu: The bit about him loving his kids and wanting to be there for them?
Dante: Yeah, you know, that part doesn't resonate with me so much after he shot me point-blank in the chest.
[Cell phone rings]
Lulu: Sorry. Oh, this is Kate. I have to take this. I'll be right back.
Dante: Okay.
Sonny: Dante. I appreciate what you did on the stand.
Dante: No thanks necessary.
Sonny: I was tellin' the truth when I said I just wanna get to know my son.
Dante: Yeah. You're gonna have to give up on that fantasy. You're goin' to prison.
Sonny: I hope not.

Carly: Hey. You makin' any headway with Dante?
Sonny: It's not gonna-- nothin's gonna happen till after the trial.
Carly: Sorry.
Claire: Enjoy your freedom while it lasts, Mr. Corinthos.
Sonny: You want me, come get me.
Claire: Oh, just remember you asked for it.
Carly: Is it some kind of breach of ethics for you to be threatening the defendant?
Claire: Mrs. Jacks, I am so looking forward to hearing your testimony, and thanks for alerting the judge to your bias toward the defendant.
Sonny: Carly's right. All Jax is about is bringing me down.
Claire: Well, the facts in this case speak for themselves.
Carly: Sonny's innocent.
Claire: Your ex-husband hasn't been innocent since he went to work with Joe Scully. I do my homework, Mr. Corinthos. Putting you behind bars is gonna make my career.
Carly: I hate her.
Sonny: No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
Diane: My, my, what did the federal prosecutor have to say?
Sonny: Puttin' me in prison's gonna make her career.
Diane: Well, she may just be right. We have to strategize.
Sonny: Let's go.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the hallway]
Lulu: Hey.
Dante: Hey.
Lulu: You look exhausted. I'm gonna take you back to the hospital.
Dante: Oh, no. Not a chance, but I wouldn't mind if we headed back to my place. You can take special care.
Lulu: Oh. Honey.
Claire: Not so fast.

Port Charles's Warehouse
Jason shows up at the warehouse. Jason makes a call to Bernie. Jason says that nothing was seized except for one thing.
Jason: No, our guys were shooting at 'em, Bernie. They got away by creating a diversion. Either they're really lousy shots, or they never intended to hit our guys in the first place.
Man: Mr. Morgan.
Jason: Bernie, hold on a second. What'd you find?
Man: Everything else is accounted for.
Jason: Okay, thanks. Bernie, the whole shipment's here, except for one thing.

Inside the Haunted Star
Lucky goes to the Haunted Star. Luke talks to Lucky about his non-meeting with Carlos. Luke says that Carlos was arrested for smuggling. Luke wants Lucky to take care of the situation. Lucky promises to look for a loophole to have Carlos released. Lucky plans on telling Elizabeth how he really feels. Lucky leaves the casino.
Luke: Hey, cowboy. Thanks for swinging by. Sorry about the urgency of the call and everything.
Lucky: Listen, Dad, you can relax, all right? I've done some thinking about Elizabeth, and—
Luke: Well, no, wai--I'm glad to hear that, but that's not what it's about. Look, I know you got a lot on your plate right now, but this is serious.
Lucky: Okay.
Luke: My cigar connection got busted.
Lucky: Carlos?
Luke: Yeah.
Lucky: That's terrible. What are you gonna do?
Luke: Well, I don't know yet.
Lucky: What happened?
Luke: Well, he got set up. It's an ugly story. But you know I'm not just talkin' about cigars here. You know I'm talkin' about heaven on a leaf. This particular brand is rolled on the tender thighs of mountain virgins.
Lucky: Yeah, they're good.
Luke: They're beautiful. And I spent so much time settin' up this connection with him, and he's been very reliable, and it's been workin' really smooth so far and everything, and then he gets this ridiculous smuggling charge against him.
Lucky: Imagine that.
Luke: Yeah. So I was wondering maybe you could fix it so that he can get off?
Lucky: Are you serious?
Luke: Yeah, I was. Okay. Well, all right.
Lucky: Well—
Luke: No, no, no. Go ahead. Ignore me in my hour of need.
Lucky: Look, if you really need me to help, I'll check into it. Okay? I'll see if there's a loophole or a way to get him off on a technicality, okay?
Luke: Well, that's all I ask.
Lucky: Okay. But either way, I'm sure you're resourceful enough to get your own cigars. And just so you know, I'm gonna go talk to Elizabeth, and I'm gonna be honest with her this time.
Luke: Good.

Inside Shadybrook Mental Hospital
Nikolas returns to Shadybrook to see Elizabeth. Elizabeth thanks Nik a second time for bringing Cam and Jake to the hospital. Nikolas admits that he’s been spending more time with Spencer. Nikolas says that the boys and Spencer are getting along well. Elizabeth changes the subject by bringing up the baby. Elizabeth wants to make it clear that she and Nik will not be together if he is the father.
[Knock on door]
Nikolas: How was your rest?
Elizabeth: It was good. Thank you for bringing the boys by.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Elizabeth: I really feel like the worst mother in the world for not being home with them. When Cameron asked me what I was doing here, I didn't even know how to answer.
Nikolas: We're--your grandmother's taking good care of 'em, and I've even been trying to help out. I brought the boys over to Wyndemere yesterday to play with Spencer.
Elizabeth: Oh. Well, that's nice that you're spending time with Spencer.
Nikolas: Yeah. Well, I have to confess that nanny watched 'em, too, for a little while.
Elizabeth: Of course.
Nikolas: But they seemed to get along really well. The boys are transfixed on Spencer's train set, so they prob--
Elizabeth: This is why I asked you here. If you're laying the groundwork for us being a family, it's not a good idea.
Nikolas: Although I appreciate your reservations, Liz, if this child happens to be mine--
Elizabeth: If this baby is yours, please don't think you and I will be together, because we won’t.

Sonny's House [Living Room]
Sonny, Carly and Diane return to the Corinthos home. Carly is upbeat about Sonny’s case. Diane doesn’t agree with Carly’s enthusiasm. Diane thinks that Claire is a force to be reckoned with.
Carly: You know what? I was all set to hate the judge, but we gotta give him credit for being fair. Things are lookin' up.
Diane: Would you take the blinders off, please? The day was a complete and utter disaster.
Carly: I'm sorry. Were you in the same courtroom?
Diane: You destroyed your credibility as a witness when you ham-fistedly declared your bias for Sonny. You cast doubt on any testimony that you're gonna give the court.
Carly: I told the truth, Diane. This about Jax pullin' strings.
Diane: Jax's motives are irrelevant. The judge was obviously irritated by your outburst.
Carly: So what?
Diane: Oh.
Carly: He gave me a slap on the wrist. Sonny's out on bail, and that's all that matters.
Sonny: That pain-in-the-ass prosecutor got nowhere, Diane.
Diane: That woman is a barracuda. Jax was brilliant getting her attached to this case. Oh, yes, okay, fine. Maybe she lost that little skirmish, but make no mistake. Claire Walsh has a laser focus on the big picture.
Sonny: She's no match for you, Diane.
Diane: Well, thank you. Your confidence warms my heart and my wallet, but trust me when I say we are in for the fight of our lives. In fact, your freedom could hinge on one crucial element.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the hallway]
Claire brings up reasons why Sonny needs to be put away. Dante agrees to speak freely with Claire about the case. On the way out, Lulu runs into Jax. Lulu can’t believe that Jax isn’t standing by Carly.
Claire: I need a word with you, Detective, alone.
Lulu: Dante just got out of the hospital. He's a little tired.
Claire: Well, then the sooner you can let us conduct our business, the sooner you can leave.
Lulu: He already gave his statement, so--
Dante: It's okay. It's okay. If the federal prosecutor is showing this much enthusiasm for the case, I guess I'll play along.
Lulu: Okay. Call me if you need me.
[Lulu walks off and runs into Jax]
Lulu: She's in there.
Jax: Who?
Lulu: Federal prosecutor.
Jax: Oh. Well, maybe she's tryin' to figure out why Dante perjured himself to cover for Sonny and if he's planning to do the same thing at the trial.
Lulu: Yeah. I honestly don't really know how to feel about this. I mean, part of me believes that Sonny belongs in prison, and the other part of me understands why Carly is defending the father of her kids.
Jax: Yeah. Welcome to my world. Even though she's siding with Sonny, I love Carly as much as ever.
Lulu: So maybe you should remain neutral.
Jax: No, I can't do that. Sonny's a threat to my family, and they won't be safe until he's behind bars.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
Claire: Take a seat.
Dante: You wanna cross-examine me?
Claire: I need to know if I can trust you.

Inside the Haunted Star
Ethan and Johnny show up unexpectedly. Ethan produces a cigar box, courtesy of Carlos. Luke is thrilled.
Johnny: Damn it, were you tryin' to get us killed?
Ethan: Hey, I wasn't leaving empty-handed.
Johnny: Yeah, well, how 'bout next time I create a diversion, you do not dive back in the line of fire?
Luke: Good evening, gentlemen. I trust you've been up no good.
Ethan: Of course. Light up to your heart's content.
Luke: Ah, thank you. You don't know how welcome these are. Not exactly my brand, but I've heard very good things about them from someone I know.
Ethan: Mm-hmm.
Luke: Good work, dodge. Nice to see you again, John.
Johnny: Pleasure.
Luke: I'll be in the back.
Ethan: I'll be there shortly.
Johnny: All right, I got some ideas about our next job.
Ethan: Oh, who says there'll be one?
Johnny: Thanks to you, I made off with that entire shipment the first go-around. How 'bout we use that as a model for our future operations?
Ethan: Oh, but let's say I'm interested. What exactly are you trying to achieve?
Johnny: Total destruction of Sonny Corinthos.

Inside of Jake's
Patrick is leading; Lisa is in second place. Lisa makes a bet that she can beat Patrick. Lisa is trying to concentrate while Patrick makes annoying jokes.
Lisa: All right.
Patrick: Okay, now listen. Relax. You're tensin' up. I can see it already.
Lisa: Ahh.
Patrick: It's your last 2 darts of the final game. You shouldn't be like this. Shake it out a little.
Coleman: Ah, you do you believe this guy?
Lisa: It's nothing new. Patrick's always played dirty.
Customer: Hey, Coleman, how 'bout some service over here?
Coleman: Keep your panties on.
Patrick: Okay, here's the thing. It's your last dart. Even if you lose, it's not the important thing. The important thing is to have fun, because that's what relationships are based on, having fun, like you. I've still never met a girl that's as competitive as me.
Lisa: Well, right back at you. That made for a nice balance, didn't it?
Patrick: It did. You were the perfect girl for a guy that never wanted to fall in love. And me, same for you, I think.
Patrick: Trust me. I never thought deeply about anything, except during my Bob Dylan period, but I was, you know-- all right, will you just get away and shut up and let me win this game?
Patrick: Remember what I said. Last dart. Make it count.

Inside Shadybrook Mental Hospital
Nikolas doesn’t want to argue with Elizabeth. Lucky shows up. There is an awkward moment as Nikolas leaves the room. Lucky and Elizabeth hug. Elizabeth is relieved to see Lucky. Lucky confides that he cares about Liz and the boys but admits that he and Elizabeth have “no future”.
Nikolas: You've made it abundantly clear that you don't want a relationship with me. I was just hoping to change your mind.
Elizabeth: Don't pressure me.
Nikolas: I'm not trying to pressure you, Liz. That's not my intention, but we both know that the baby is probably mine, and I'm not just gonna bow out of my own child's life.
Elizabeth: I wouldn't ask you to.
[Knock on door]
Lucky: Nikolas.
Nikolas: Yeah.
Lucky: Mind if I have a moment with Elizabeth?
Nikolas: Sure.
Elizabeth: Hi.
Lucky: Elizabeth. Hi. Listen, we need to talk, okay? I need to be honest with you. I'll do whatever I can to help you recover, and I'll always be Cam and Jake’s father, but you and I, we don't have a future.

Inside the Courthouse [Inside the Courtroom]
In the courtroom, Claire questions Dante about his ‘accidental’ shooting. Dante stands by his story that Sonny did not shoot him. Claire senses that Dante got emotionally involved when he worked for Sonny. Dante reminds Claire that he didn’t know then that Sonny was his father. Claire fears that Dante won’t testify against Sonny.
Claire: Detective Falconeri, can you tell me how long you worked undercover in your father's organization?
Dante: Since July of '09 and 9 months undercover with the Zaccharas before that.
Claire: And did you know the defendant was your father?
Dante: No, not until I went to his house to arrest him.
Claire: And you were lying on the floor, bleeding with a gunshot wound.
Dante: That's right.
Claire: After he shot you.
Dante: After I shot myself accidentally unloading a gun.
Claire: Tell me, Detective, how do you keep the lies straight?
Dante: I try not to tell any.
Claire: Oh, it's kind of like working undercover, you know, when the smallest little slip-up can mean your life. I mean, being convincing is part of the job, correct?
Dante: That's right.
Claire: And every good lie contains a little bit of truth.
Dante: I wanted Mr. Corinthos to trust me.
Claire: Oh. Well, that must have made you very proud that a powerful man such as Sonny Corinthos showed such faith in you.
Dante: Now where are you going with this?
Claire: Do you think the lines were blurred, maybe, that you were starting to feel a connection with your father?
Dante: I didn't know the defendant was my father.
Claire: He was acting like your mentor. I mean, he was taking a paternal interest in you. I mean, how did that feel, Detective?
Dante: What are you, a shrink or a lawyer?
Claire: Am I making you uncomfortable?
Dante: No, not at all, I just don't know what this has to do with the case.
Claire: Well, I'm trying to see how far you'll go to save daddy.

Sonny's House [Living Room]
Sonny believes in Diane’s defense. Carly and Sonny discuss the case. Jax interrupts the conversation.
Sonny: Yeah, Diane was right. You shouldn't have stormed into that courtroom mouthin' off to the judge.
Carly: What did you expect? I wasn't gonna let Jax and his handpicked fed get your bail revoked.
Sonny: Don't get me wrong. I appreciate you fightin' for me.
Carly: Of course I'd fight for you.
Sonny: The hard part now is gonna be the trial.
Carly: I know, and I realize that your case may hinge on me telling a compelling lie, so that's exactly what I'm gonna do.
[Jax walks in]
Sonny: You shouldn't be here, Jax.
Jax: Yeah, neither should Carly. Listen, if you care about Michael and Morgan as much as you say you do, you wouldn't be asking their mother to commit perjury to save you.

Unknown Location [In a den]
In a unknown location, someone is reading the latest news on Sonny being out on bail for Claudia's Murder Trial. The person throws a glass at the door and we don't see his face. He then uses the phone and prepares to venture to Port Charles
[Glass shatters at the door]
[Picks up phone]
Unknown: Get the plane and all my stuff ready. Its time I make sure that bastard Corinthos pays for what he did, and I'm nt going to let the courts let him slide..he is going to be dealt with my WAY!

Inside the Haunted Starr
In private, Ethan and Johnny talk about what happened at the warehouse. Jason walks in. Jason says that a box of Cuban cigars was taken at the warehouse. Ethan and Johnny are quiet.
Johnny: One of my sources tells me there's a Corinthos shipment coming in by truck. It's gonna unload at one of the Corinthos-Morgan warehouses. I'll intercept.
Ethan: And I'll distract the guards.
Johnny: You're catchin' on, kid.
Ethan: All right, not to get bogged down in the pesky little details, but your entire scheme seems to revolve around me being an open target.
Johnny: I'll back you up.
Ethan: Why am I not reassured?
Johnny: Huh. I guess I got the wrong guy. Thought you were a risk-taker.
Ethan: If I'm interested--and it's a big if--what's my take?
Johnny: I'll tell you once you commit.
Ethan: Hey, mate. I told you the minimum blind for the private game's 10 grand. Sorry. So what's your poison?
Jason: One of Sonny's warehouses just got hit. Shots were fired, but nobody was hurt. Nothing was taken but a box of Cuban cigars. Would either of you know anything about that?

Inside of Jake's
Robin walks into Jake’s and sees Patrick and Lisa doing shots at the bar. The crowd is egging them on. Robin is disgusted.
[Dance music playing]
[Customers cheering]
[Robin walks in]
Lisa: All right, up and over!
Coleman: Aw, man, that is raw talent right there, years of it.
Customers: Up and over. Up and over. Up and over. Up and over. Up and over...
Lisa: Whoo!
Customers: Up and over.

Inside Shadybrook Mental Hospital
Lucky comes clean about his feelings. Lucky worries about Elizabeth’s condition. Elizabeth realizes that Lucky doesn’t love her anymore. Lucky feels the damage is done. Lucky thinks that he and Elizabeth need to move on with their lives. Elizabeth begins to cry. Elizabeth blurts out that she’s taking the paternity test tomorrow.
Lucky: I was telling you what I thought you needed to hear. You know, when I found you in the church passed out from the cold, I was terrified. Then you found out you were pregnant and went up to the hospital roof. You have no idea what was going through my mind when I saw you up there, Elizabeth. You needed me, so I told you that I forgave you.
Elizabeth: But you didn't mean it? You haven't forgiven me. You can't, can you?
Lucky: I'm sorry. Look, we've gotten ourselves into a very bad place, and I've tried to get past it, but I can’t. The damage is beyond repair, and it's time. We have to let go.
Elizabeth: I appreciate your honesty, as much as it hurts to hear you say it. But I guess it's time that we all face reality, so I have decided to take the paternity test tomorrow.
