Brief Character History
Brook Lynn Ashton was named after Brooklyn, New York, where her mother and father had spent many happy times together. However, at the time of her birth, Brook's parents were estranged. Lois had returned to her family in Bensonhurst after she realized she didn't want her daughter growing up around the Quartermaines. Her feelings were cemented after Ned failed in his attempts to make Lois and their record business his first priority. He returned to ELQ, and Lois returned to her family. Lois took Brook to meet Ned a few months after she was born. Although Lois claimed she hadn't shown up to reconcile with Ned, it was clear Lois and Ned were still in love with each other. But after she overheard him blackmailing his cousin Justus, Lois left townwith her daughter.
Ned saw his daughter on birthdays and introduced her to Chloe when he was married to her. Brook adored Chloe and was not thrilled to learn several months later that Alexis had become Ned's new love. She later grew to like Alexis, but couldn't understand what was happening when Alexis left her father at the altar.
Brook returned to Port Charles in early 2004, using Lynn as her name. After haunting L&B's studio with her talented singing voice, she became friends with Georgie and Dillon, who was unaware that he was Lynn's uncle. Impressed by her voice, they persuaded her to record a demo tape. But Lynn remained adamant that she only sang for the joy of it and didn't want to profit from it, which was something her mother wanted her to do. Lynn's true identity and ties to the Quartermaines were revealed after a man claiming to be her father attempted to take her home to her mother. She escaped by stealing his car, but Dillon later turned them in to the cops, and they wound up back at the Quartermaines'. Lois wanted to take Brooke back to Bensonhurst with her, but Ned persuaded her to let Brook stay, and to stay in town with Brook.
Lois repeatedly tried to convince Brook that she should sing professionally, but each time they ended up in a fight. Seeing how hard Brook fought her mother, Ned took a different approach. He persuaded her to sing with him just for fun. But she remained strongly opposed to singing professionally. She was even willing to let Sage sing one of her songs rather than sing it herself.
Mother and daughter had the same idea of delivering roses to Edward after Lila died. Each of them regretted the fact that Brook had never gotten to know Lila. Brook finally sang for a crowd at her great-grandmother's funeral. Later she misinterpreted the situation when Lois tried to convey how proud she was of her daughter. Believing that Lois wanted to capitalize on the event, Brook yelled at Lois, who took off, hurt by her daughter's words.
Brook's relationship with her mother continued to go poorly as Lois became involved with Lorenzo Alcazar. Brook hated that her mother would date a thug when Brook was always told not to. In an attempt to give her mother a taste of her own medicine, Brook began getting cozy with Diego, Courtney's foster child. Diego had made his desire to work for Sonny obvious to anyone who would listen, and Lois wasn't a fool. Diego and Brook grew closer when Brook walked in on her mother and Lorenzo shortly after the two had made love. Enraged, Brook ran away with Diego, where the two escaped to Mexico to find Diego's sister, Maria.
Georgie and Dillon accompanied Diego and Brook, and the four were arrested when Maria denied knowing Diego and let her fiancé arrest the group of teenagers. She later had them released and warned Diego to get out of Port Charles. Brook and Diego then began their mission to discover why Maria didn't want Diego in Port Charles. Working together, they determined that Sonny must have killed Diego's father, and Diego decided to find out why. Dressing as a delivery girl, Brook attempted to divert Max's attention while Diego tried to break into Sonny's apartment. Sam caught the two before they could enter the apartment. Jason agreed to help Diego find out if Sonny had anything to do with the murder of Diego's father, and Courtney arrived to take the two home.
Diego and Brook Lynn didn't last long, because he soon developed an interest in Maxie Jones, leaving Brook Lynn out in the cold. After graduating from high school, Brook Lynn enrolled at Port Charles University -- and ended up having Maxie as a roommate. After being drugged at a party, Brook learned there were nude pictures of her circulating on the Internet and elsewhere. She began to suspect that Diego was her stalker, but he kept coming up with all the right answers for every one of her questions. Ultimately, Brook learned that her suspicions were right: Diego had indeed been stalking her as payback for what Brook Lynn and the others had done to Sage.
A short while later, Brook Lynn decided to leave Port Charles and join her mother in New York so that she could pursue a music career.
Brooklynn surprises everyone when she returns on 2010 to bring back L&B records home base to Port Charles. Things get complicated for her when she runs into Dante Falconerie as they grew up together and eventually dated after she returned back to bensonhurts in 2006. She is not all to happy that Dante is with Lulu given the trouble Lulu caused for her uncle Dillion and her friend Georgie. Brooklynn later reveals to Dante's mother that she has a son with Dante named Eddie Ashton but is afraid to reveal the secret after finding out that Dante is Sonny Corinthos son and Eddie being Sonny's first grandson could prove lethal to Eddie. When Eddie shows up Dante curiosity about Eddie is peaked as the age matches up from when he left but Brooklynn doesn't reveal the identity of the father. Lulu though overhears Brooklynn confessing to her grandmother Tracy that Eddie is Dante's son. Tracy is not to happy that a Corinthos is the father of her great grandson and tries to make sure that Brooklynn secure her rights incase Dante finds out and Sonny's enemies find out as well. Lulu eventually tells Dante and he confronts Brooklynn and they make amends and try and co parent Eddie. Brooklynn though wanted more then just to be a co parent with Dante as it appeared that she wanted Dante back from Lulu. Brooklynn and Lulu clash many times in regards to both Dante and Eddie and even Tracy see's that Brooklynn wants Dante. Tracy decides to get a court order against Dante to keep the two away from each other. Brooklynn is shocked when Edward gets into it and meets her cousin James Holt Jr. an attorney and future ADA of Port Charles. Brooklynn realizes she is using Eddie as a way to get close to Dante and decides to drop her pursuit of Dante.
Brooklynn begins having little encounters with local mob prince Johnny Zacchara who is also a new father to twins. Johnny decided to relinquish his rights to his twins in order to protect them from the Zaccahara name. Dante confronted Brooklyn on her association to Johnny and worries she is putting Eddie in danger but Brooklynn thought Dante was jealous of her moving on from him.

Brief Character History
In 1992, Brenda arrived in Port Charles to live with her sister, Julia, after dropping out of boarding school. Julia threatened to withhold Brenda's trust fund, so Brenda agreed to finish school. Later, Brenda decided to move in with her crush, Jagger Cates; however, things didn't work out because Jagger was in love with Karen Wexler. After Julia left town, Brenda moved in with the Quartermaines.
In 1993, Brenda met and became instantly attracted to mobster, Sonny Corinthos. She helped Sonny after he was shot while breaking Frank Smith out of jail. Brenda refused to believe that Sonny was a mobster, so she agreed to wear a wire to prove that everyone was wrong about Sonny. Lily Rivera got wind of what Brenda was up to, so she told Sonny. Sonny promptly broke things off with Brenda and then married Lily. Eventually, Brenda managed to get Sonny to admit that they belonged together. Sonny was set to runaway with Brenda when Lily announced that she was pregnant. Brenda realized that Sonny couldn't leave his child behind, so she walked away from him.
Jasper "Jax" Jacks had been in love with Brenda, so when he found her standing in the rain, he whisked her out of town to get married on his yacht. As Brenda and Jax sipped on champagne, Lily was killed in a car explosion. Lily's father had ordered a bomb to be planted in Sonny's car because he felt that Sonny had betrayed Lily with Brenda. Brenda and Jax returned to Port Charles to have a wedding ceremony surrounded by friends and family, but Sonny had a surprise for Jax. Sonny had tracked down Jax's legal wife, Miranda.
Months later, Brenda was kidnapped and used as bait to lure Sonny to rescue her. Sonny managed to find Brenda, but an explosion sealed the star-crossed lovers in a cave. Brenda and Sonny refused to die without declaring their undying love for each other. After they made love, Jax rescued them. Brenda decided to tell Jax that she had slept with Sonny.
After Brenda and Sonny reunited, Brenda was framed for the murder of Dr. Pierce Dorman. Unbeknownst to Sonny and Brenda, Lily's father was behind the set up. In time, Sonny killed Hernando Rivera and cleared Brenda of all charges. Once things settled down, Sonny asked Brenda to marry him. Brenda accepted the proposal under the condition that she and Sonny leave town never to return. Brenda also expected Sonny to put the mob life behind him.
On their wedding day Sonny realized that Brenda would never be safe with him, so he sent Jason to the church to tell her that he had left town without her. Brenda was completely crushed. She took her anger out on Jason by hurling insults at him whenever they ran into each other. Things changed when Brenda and Jason were forced to work together to stay alive after a plane crash.
Brenda decided to move in with Jax, as a platonic friend, until she could put her life back together. Jax sent for Julia, and after years of bitterness, the sisters managed to patch up their differences. Brenda's happiness was short-lived; she suffered a nervous breakdown after Sonny left town for good. Distraught by her true love's betrayal, she had paranoid delusions that he was out to get her. Her condition deteriorated, so Jax and Julia had Brenda temporarily institutionalized. Eventually, Brenda pulled herself together and realized that Jax, not Sonny, was her true love. Sonny briefly returned in the spring of 1998, but he quickly realized that Brenda had moved on.
That same year, Brenda's estranged mother showed up in Port Charles. Veronica suffered from a terminal hereditary mental illness, which caused suicidal tendencies. Brenda decided to be tested to see if she had inherited this illness, but tragedy struck before Brenda could learn the results of the test. Veronica, in a fit of madness, drove Brenda and herself over a cliff. Jax watched in horror as the car plunged into the ocean. After an extensive search, both women were presumed dead.
In August 2000, Stefan lured Jax out of town by hiring a Brenda look-alike to make it appear that Brenda was alive. Jax returned to Port Charles in 2001, with news that Brenda had not been found. Jax had finally accepted that Brenda was dead, but in September 2002, Brenda returned to Port Charles. Ruthless arms dealer, Luis Alcazar, had fished Brenda out of the water after the crash and then nursed her back to health on his yacht. Luis had managed to keep Brenda by his side by allowing her to believe that she had inherited her mother's mental illness.
Luis promised to care for Brenda when her health began to decline, but he realized that Brenda would never forget her past in Port Charles and the men that she had loved. Luis decided to murder Sonny and Jax, so he heavily sedated Brenda to keep her hidden on his yacht while he slipped into Port Charles. Luis' plot began to unravel when Brenda slowly emerged from her drugged haze. She overheard Luis discuss his plans to kill Sonny and Jax, so she made a daring escape. Brenda fired a flare gun in her room, which caused the yacht to explode.
Brenda swam to shore and then convinced a stranger to call Sonny. Brenda arranged for Sonny to meet her at the church where she had once planned to marry him. Sonny was reluctant to go because he hadn't realized that Brenda was waiting for him. As time passed, Brenda began to fear that Sonny wouldn't show. She stepped out into the rain and then stopped short when her eyes immediately connected with Sonny's.
Brenda started to walk towards Sonny, but a hail of bullets suddenly ripped through him. Jason arrived on the scene to find Brenda crouched over Sonny's wounded body. Sonny instructed Jason to take Brenda to a safe house. At the safe house, Brenda was distraught as she blamed herself for Sonny's death. She didn't realize that Sonny was very much alive and in the next room.
Brenda refused to let Jax suffer the same fate as Sonny, so she made several attempts to escape. Eventually she succeeded. Brenda raced to Jax's side only to find him at the church with Skye. Brenda watched as Jax married Skye, but waited until Jax's wedding night to contact him. She explained her reasons for staying away and then warned Jax of Luis' plans. At Jax's suggestion, Brenda hid in her former cottage near the woods.
Luis recalled Brenda mentioning the cottage, so he tracked her down and then shot Jax. Sonny arrived as Brenda tried to shield a wounded Jax from Luis murderous intent. Sonny shot Luis, saved Jax, and then explained to Brenda that he had faked his death in order to lure Luis out into the open. Meanwhile, Jax had been paralyzed from the bullet, so he turned to Brenda for support.
Brenda promised Skye that she wouldn't interfere with Skye's marriage to Jax, but the tragedy drew Jax and Brenda together. Skye eventually learned that Luis had lied to Brenda about the illness. At the same time, Luis, who had avoided jail for shooting Jax, convinced Skye to help him kidnap Brenda. Skye agreed. Luis spirited Brenda out of town on a jet, but Sonny was able to sneak aboard.
The plane crashed, and the three found themselves stranded in the jungle. Jason and Carly rescued Sonny and Brenda, but not before Sonny and Luis attempted to kill each other. Jax discovered Luis's lie and confronted Skye. Unable to forgive Skye for hiding the truth about Brenda's illness, Jax left her in search for Brenda. Jax reunited with Brenda and then explained that she hadn't inherited Veronica's illness.
Seeing Jax and Brenda together sent a drunken Skye into Luis's bed. On that same night, Sonny had ordered Jason to kill Luis. Brenda decided to talk to Luis, in an effort to keep Jax safe. Luis and Brenda fought bitterly. After cutting Luis with a knife, Brenda fled the hotel room and then bumped into Jason. Jason left with Brenda before he could carry out Sonny's orders. Shortly afterwards, word spread through Port Charles that Luis had been murdered.
Scotty quickly zeroed in on Jason and Brenda as the prime suspects. Skye happily served as Scotty's prime witness, pinning the murder on Brenda. Jax thwarted Skye's plans by confessing to the murder, but the charges against him were dropped. Brenda and Jason decided to face their murder charges as husband and wife, so that they couldn't testify against each other. After they got married, Jason and Brenda went on trial.
Brenda decided to undergo hypnosis in a desperate to find out what had really happened to Luis. She recalled seeing Ric Lansing in the hall outside of Luis's suite, but Ric had denied any involvement in the murder. Brenda feared that there might be incriminating evidence on Luis' sunken yacht, so she went diving to search the yacht. Later, Gia and Nikolas found an unconscious Brenda in the icy water. In the emergency room, Brenda gave Jax a key to a safety deposit box. Brenda was dismayed when the police managed to seize the contents of the safety deposit box.
Things looked bleak for Brenda when the safety deposit box yielded a videotape of Brenda stabbing Luis. Brenda tried to persuade Jason to flee the country with her, so that he wouldn't be convicted of the murder with her. Jason chose to stay because he was unable to leave his new love, Courtney. A short time later, Brenda and Jason were found guilty of murder, but the ruling was quickly overturned when it was revealed that their attorney, Alexis Davis, had killed Luis in self-defense during a struggle.
Brenda and Jason traveled out of the country to have their marriage annulled; however, at the last minute, Brenda changed her mind. Brenda explained that she felt pressured to marry Jax, so she asked Jason to file for an annulment in the States because it would take longer. Jason agreed, which made Sonny question Jason's commitment to Courtney. After the annulment was finalized, Jax and Brenda decided to get married. The night before the wedding, Brenda ran into Sonny on the docks.
Brenda told Sonny that she had forgiven him for standing her up at the altar. As Brenda and Sonny shared one last goodbye kiss, Carly spotted them. Carly immediately ran to tell Jax about the kiss. Jax waited until he and Brenda were about to exchange vows in front of friends and loved ones before he called off the wedding. Jax refused to marry Brenda because he believed that she would eventually cheat on him with Sonny.
Brenda left the wedding, hurt and broken-hearted. She waited for Jason outside his penthouse, where she ran into Sonny. Sonny explained that Carly had told Jax about the kiss. Brenda decided to leave Port Charles. As Brenda packed her things, Jax showed up to offer Brenda money to leave and never return. Jax insisted that he no longer loved her and that the woman he had fallen in love with had drowned with Veronica. Brenda refused to take Jax's money.
After Jax left, Jason comforted Brenda and then drove her to the airport. Brenda insisted that Jason deserved to be happy, so she encouraged him to work things out with Courtney. After Brenda left Port Charles, she moved to Europe where she focused on her career. In time, she started dating again. Around 2007, Brenda became involved with a man named Aleksander Janacek. She quickly ended things when she learned that Aleksander was the son of an international crime lord known as the Balkan.
Aleksander began to stalk Brenda, so she flew to New York City to get away from him. In New York City, a young police officer by the name of Dante Falconeri was assigned to protect her. One night, while on a walk, Aleksander approached Brenda. Aleksander tried to force Brenda to leave with him, but Dante stepped in. A brief, but violent, struggle ensued.
Brenda picked up a gun that had fallen to the ground and then shot Aleksander as Aleksander tried to strangle Dante to death. Aleksander died moments later. Brenda was horrified by what she had done, so Dante agreed to dump the body and not report it to the police. Shortly afterwards, Brenda left town to do humanitarian work for the Alliance to Save Exploited Children. However, her troubles were far from behind her because the Balkan was determined to get some answers from her about Aleksander's sudden disappearance.
In 2010, Robin reunited with Brenda during a trip to Africa. After Robin returned from the trip, she gave Brenda's phone number to Sonny. Sonny was facing legal troubles and had started dating a federal prosecutor, so he hesitated to reach out to Brenda. Brenda's friend Suzanne decided to call FBI Agent Jagger Cates who later decided to piss Brenda off by contacting Jason. There had been several attempts made to disfigure and harm Brenda, so Suzanne hoped that Jason could help keep Brenda safe. Jason flew to Rome to protect Brenda, but it soon became clear that the Balkan would not stop. After the Balkan's men nearly killed Brenda with an overdose of heroin, Jason insisted that Brenda return to Port Charles with him.
Jason believed that he could provide better protection for Brenda in a place that he was familiar with. Brenda reluctantly agreed to go, but she made it clear that she expected Jason to keep Sonny away from her. Brenda feared having Sonny breaking her heart again. Spinelli, Jason's roommate, was immediately smitten with the beautiful supermodel living under their roof.
Brenda quickly reconnected with several friends, including Robin. Despite Brenda's best intentions, she couldn't stay away from Sonny. Sonny didn't make it easy because he actively pursued Brenda. Brenda was stunned when she dropped by to visit Sonny and was introduced to his firstborn son; Dante Falconeri. Brenda and Dante silently agreed to keep quiet about their connection.
Sonny and Brenda grew closer, much to Carly's annoyance. Carly also felt threatened by Brenda because Jax was determined to help protect Brenda from the threat of the Balkan. Jax arranged for the police department to guard Brenda. Dante grumbled when he was assigned the task, which made Carly suspicious. Carly sensed that Brenda and Dante were hiding something, so she manipulated Spinelli to dig into Brenda and Dante's past.
Spinelli uncovered proof that Brenda and Dante had known each other in 2007 and that one of the police officer who had worked with Dante had suspected Dante and Brenda of having an affair. As Spinelli dug deeper into their past, he learned that Brenda had a baby and that Dante had signed over all rights to the child. He shared the information with Carly.
Brenda suspected Carly was set on sabotaging her relationship with Sonny but she had a more pressing concern. She overheard Jason and Sam discussing news about the kidnapping of Livvie Locke, Sam's triplet sister by the Balkan. Jason and Sam decided to make the Balkan's men believe Sam is Brenda, although Brenda disagreed with placing Sam in danger the plan continued without her approval and Dante was assigned to keep her inside the penthouse. Brenda knocked Dante out and showed up at the warehouse. He quickly regained consciousness and joined her at the warehouse. One of the Balkan's men held a gun on Dante and Brenda shot him. Dante covered up the crime and they both had flashbacks of their time together in 2007 when Dante had covered for Brenda when she shot Aleksander Janacek.

Brief Character History
Prince Nikolas Cassadine was raised by his Uncle Stefan after his mother, Laura, left him to return to her husband, Luke Spencer, and after Luke killed Nikolas' father, Stavros. As he grew up, he developed a hatred for his mother and vowed that he would never trust her. However, when he met her in Port Charles in 1996, he wanted to become close to her despite lingering reservations about trusting her. Stefan had taken Nikolas to town to save his half-sister Lulu's life by donating his bone marrow to her.
Luke, who had not known about Nikolas until then, forced Laura to choose between Nikolas and her real family. Torn, Laura ultimately chose to remain with Luke and their children and abandoned Nikolas yet again. Hurt, Nikolas felt no need to remain in Port Charles and asked Stefan to take him back to Greece. However, Stefan threatened to have General Hospital shut down if Laura didn't let the Cassadines remain in Port Charles. She was forced to agree to his terms.
During all of this, Nikolas had developed a close friendship with nurse Bobbie Spencer at General Hospital. Bobbie later married Stefan, and Nikolas and Bobbie became closer. However, their friendship quickly ended after Nikolas discovered that Bobbie had betrayed Stefan.
Nikolas' next friendship was with Katherine Bell, whom he first met when she went to Wyndemere, the Cassadine
mansion, looking for location shots for a campaign for her company, Deception Cosmetics. When Laura faked her own death to escape the Cassadine threats, Nikolas ran straight to Katherine. Before she could console him as a friend, he pulled her into a passionate kiss, changing everything. When Katherine was found shot at Wyndemere, Nikolas immediately accused Luke, but in actuality, it had been Stefan who pulled the trigger, thinking that there was an intruder on the island.
When Nikolas discovered that his mother had faked her death, he banished her from his life. He still remained close to his sister and grandmother, though, and decided to stay in Port Charles and attend public school. He then became involved with Sarah Webber, which caused further resentment with his half-brother Lucky, who had a crush on Sarah at the time. One night at a party at Luke's club, Nikolas became the victim of mob violence when he was shot in the throat with a bullet intended for Jason Morgan, and Nikolas suffered a stroke. Jason then performed a tracheotomy and ultimately saved Nikolas' life.
The shooting left Nikolas with Broca's aphasia, and he was unable to speak for a long period of time. During his recovery, Nikolas became depressed and shut Sarah out because he was ashamed to see her. They eventually broke up. One person that Nikolas did respond to, though, was Robin Scorpio. They developed a bond as Robin helped him with his speech therapy. Stefan, however, did not approve of Nikolas' relationship with Robin. Not only was she a member of the Scorpio family, whom the Cassadines had experienced trouble with in the past, but she was also involved with Jason Morgan. Despite this, Robin and Nikolas remained good friends.
Nikolas was happy to learn that Katherine and Stefan were engaged. He liked Katherine as a friend and knew that she would be good for his uncle. On the night of the Bacchanalia, the party celebrating their engagement, Katherine fell to her "death" off a parapet after overhearing a conversation between Stefan and Laura and learning that Stefan was Nikolas' father. Nikolas was devastated, and of course blamed Luke. However, Katherine later returned from the dead and revealed Nikolas' paternity to him following a fight. Furious, he confronted Stefan and Laura and felt betrayed and upset for being lied to for so long. However, he had always thought of Stefan as a father, and after he got over the anger of being lied to, he couldn't have been happier. Not only was he released from the duties of being a prince, he had the one thing that he had always wanted: a family.
When an unknown person was blackmailing Nikolas' friend Emily Quartermaine, Nikolas joined forces with Liz, Emily, and Lucky to catch the blackmailer. When they caught him, they discovered that he was also Liz's rapist. Through this adventure, Nikolas and Lucky realized that they could count on each other, and they began to build a relationship. Nikolas also began to rebuild a relationship with Katherine, this time a more serious one. Neither Laura nor Stefan was happy when they learned of this, and they were more than horrified when Katherine announced she was "pregnant," and she and Nikolas were getting married.
On the night of the wedding, Katherine repeated history, and again fell off the parapet after being pushed by Helena, who thought Katherine would ruin her grandson's life. This time though, she died. The first person Nikolas suspected was Laura because he knew how much she hated Katherine and how disappointed she was in their relationship. He then learned that Katherine had been manipulating him the whole time and not only was she faking the pregnancy, but she was also barren.
The next tragedy in Nikolas' life occurred when he thought his brother Lucky had died in a fire. He and Lucky's girlfriend, Liz, became closer and tried to help each other through their grief. Nikolas was attracted to Liz, but he knew he couldn't act on it because her heart was still with Lucky. Almost a year later, Nikolas discovered the possibility that Lucky could be alive. He and Liz went to New York City, where they eventually found Lucky. Lucky was not the same person though. He said that he didn't love Liz anymore and started urging Nikolas to take her, but of course Nikolas couldn't because Liz was still convinced that Lucky loved her. Several months later, Nikolas, Liz, and Lucky realized that Lucky had been brainwashed by Helena and, after extensive therapy, Lucky realized that he did still love Liz, and they got back together.
It wasn't long before Nikolas' true paternity was discovered: Nikolas was indeed the son of Stavros Cassadine, making Nikolas the Cassadine prince and Stefan his uncle. The deception had been a plan by Helena to gain access to the Cassadine fortune, which was supposed to be inherited by the prince. She had also enjoyed toying with Stefan's emotions in making him believe he was Nikolas' father. Although angered about being plagued by Cassadine lies again, Nikolas didn't really care what relation Stefan was to him because Stefan would always be his father. A few months later, though, Stefan "died," presumably at the hands of Luke Spencer. But in reality, Stefan had faked his death in order to avoid a real one at the hands of Helena. But Nikolas was unaware of Stefan's plan, and continued to mourn his uncle.
Nikolas met his next great love when he teamed up with Lucky and Liz to catch Emily's blackmailer. They caught her trying to take the cash they had set out as bait. Gia Campbell, the blackmailer, agreed to help them catch the guy who had set Emily up if they kept her presence in Port Charles from her brother. Nikolas found himself attracted to the loud, brash, and beautiful Gia. When she lost her job and had nowhere else to go, he let her move in with him rent-free.
Gia was the only one who Nikolas could really talk to after his uncle returned from the dead. Nikolas was enraged and hurt that his uncle had once again lied to him, and so he shut Stefan out of his life for good. The attraction between Gia and Nikolas built until they finally gave in to it. When Gia lost the chance to be the new Face of Deception model for Deception Cosmetics to Liz, Gia was devastated, and this time, Nikolas helped her. Their budding romance began to blossom more.
After everyone realized that Helena was still using mind control on Lucky, Nikolas realized he would do anything to get his brother out from under Helena's control. He secretly partnered with Luke and Elizabeth in an elaborate scheme to protect Lucky and take down Helena. In order to fool Helena and protect Gia at the same time, Nikolas broke it off with Gia and began to function as a "True Cassadine." In an effort to prove his loyalty, he had his grandmother "remove" Lucky's love for Elizabeth from Lucky's memory, claiming to want Elizabeth for himself. In the meantime, Helena had defrosted her son, Stavros, who then wandered around Port Charles, pretending to be Lucien Cane. Gia tried to move on and even dated Lucien a few times, not realizing his true identity. But she couldn't give up on Nikolas and soon stumbled on his plan of deception. So she joined Nikolas against Helena.
Nikolas met his father for the first time in Helena's lab. Stavros never quite trusted his son's loyalty to the Cassadines and pretended to still be frozen when Helena showed Nikolas her lab. Left alone with Stavros, Nikolas revealed his hatred for his father, not realizing that Stavros heard every word he said. Nikolas told Gia about the meeting, and she comforted him. After Nikolas left to talk to his mother, Gia found a photo and realized that Lucien was Stavros. Laura and Nikolas went to Helena's lab and met face-to-face with the very much alive Stavros. Nikolas tried to play on his father's love for him to convince him to let Nikolas, Laura, and Gia go, but Stavros got mad and locked Gia and Nikolas in a room. Ultimately, Luke defeated Stavros, who fell into a bottomless pit, and Helena was sent to jail.
Back together publicly, Nikolas proposed to Gia, who eagerly accepted. Stefan threw them an engagement party at Wydemere, during which Nikolas' recently discovered Aunt Kristina, Alexis' long-lost sister, revealed that she was taking the Cassadine name as her own. Stefan then announced that Nikolas would be running Cassadine Industries because Stefan was leaving for Milan. Uncertain at first, Nikolas finally accepted this huge responsibility, and Nikolas and Gia moved into Wyndemere.
In the months following Stavros' death and Helena's defeat, Nikolas was plagued with dreams and thoughts of becoming like his father. Gia did her best to comfort him and even gave up her modeling career to focus on her relationship with Nikolas. The night following her last modeling shoot, Nikolas, Gia, Elizabeth, and Lucky went to dinner to celebrate. Sarah Webber, Liz's sister and Nikolas' former girlfriend, returned to town, drawing out feelings of jealousy in Gia. Gia left before Nikolas and got in a car accident on the way home. Nikolas then went into protective mode and covered up the fact that Gia was at fault and that she'd been intoxicated at the time. He refused to let her confess her true involvement and paid off any witnesses.
The only possible crimp in Nikolas' cover-up was Elizabeth, who'd been in the car with Gia and didn't remember much about the accident. Nikolas attempted to distract her and prevent her from inadvertently revealing the truth by persuading her and Lucky to move into Wyndemere. But when Elizabeth finally remembered everything, she blasted them all for their deceptions and moved out. Then Gia's brother Taggert hired an undercover cop to gather dirt on Nikolas and the possible cover-up of Gia's fault in the accident. Nikolas caught on and tried to feed Taggert false information. But the whole investigation became pointless when Courtney dropped the whole thing, and they all moved on.
It became obvious that Gia was bored with just being the fiancée of a prince, so Nikolas paid for her to make a comeback on the cover of a big magazine. But when Gia found out that her talents hadn't earned her the cover, she yelled at Nikolas for trying to control her life. They grew further apart when Gia decided to go back to school to become a lawyer and went to work for Alexis in Alexis' law office. However, the final straw was Gia's growing friendship with Zander Smith. Nikolas was extremely jealous and tried to pay Zander to leave town. Gia found out and broke off their engagement.
Nikolas then focused on keeping his mother and his brother safe from Luke, who had recently gone on a destructive rampage in anguish over losing Laura and seemed to chase Laura deeper into mental illness whenever he went to see her. Nikolas made every effort to keep Laura's location a secret from Luke. In an effort to keep Luke distracted and to stop him from potentially hurting Lucky, Nikolas secretly hired a call girl who resembled a younger Laura to keep Luke's attention. When it was revealed that the girl, named Summer -- her real name was actually Laura -- was working with Nikolas, Luke was angry and hurt.
Summer revealed that Nikolas had blackmailed her into the scam by promising that he knew where her long-lost brother was. But Summer's brother turned out to be an ex-boyfriend who had worked for Nikolas and stolen some valuable coins belonging to the Cassadines. Nikolas had hoped that Summer would lead him to her boyfriend and the coins. Summer teamed up with Luke and Lucky to try to find her boyfriend, and Nikolas followed them. They discovered at the end of the trail that the coins were worthless.
When Nikolas returned from his adventure, Emily visited him. She confided in him that she had breast cancer and had resigned herself to die. She was concealing this fact from her boyfriend, Zander. She asked Nikolas to help her convince Zander that Emily and Nikolas were in love so that Zander would leave Emily and wouldn't have to watch her die. The plan eventually worked, although not before Emily and Nikolas were forced to get engaged to be really convincing. This did not make Stefan happy.
Stefan had recently returned to town because the Cassadines were in danger of going bankrupt, since Helena had squandered away much of the Cassadine fortune. Stefan had been forced to take several loans. The creditors wanted their money, but if that couldn't be delivered, they wanted blood instead, preferably Nikolas'. Nikolas tried to reassure his uncle that he would take care of it, but Stefan had an idea of his own. He led Lydia Karenin to town to marry Nikolas. Lydia was set to inherit a fortune if she married Nikolas, otherwise she wouldn't get anything. The fortune in turn would solve the Cassadine's money woes.
Nikolas' engagement to Emily prevented Lydia from marrying Nikolas. So Stefan arranged for Emily to be pushed off of the cliffs at Wyndemere during her engagement party. But heavy fog that night caused the assassin to mistakenly push Summer, who was at the party with Lucky. She died and in an effort to cover his tracks, Stefan tried to frame Luke for Summer's death.
Nikolas forced Emily to attend a breast cancer survivor group meeting, which inspired her to fight her cancer. It also helped her to decide to tell Zander the truth about her cancer, and she reunited with Zander. But all the pretending Nikolas and Emily had done had led to a real love between them. Torn between his love for Emily and his duty to his family, Nikolas decided to be a dutiful Cassadine and marry Lydia. Lucky was appalled by Nikolas' decision, especially since he knew that Nikolas really loved Emily.
Emily arrived in the middle of the ceremony, and Nikolas nearly called it off. However, Emily told him she only wanted to say goodbye to him. A saddened Nikolas married Lydia, washed his hands of Stefan, and jilted his new bride on their wedding night. Soon after the wedding, a second part to the will's clause was revealed: Lydia and Nikolas had to have a child within the first five years of their marriage in order to gain the full inheritance. This would be a problem since Nikolas didn't intend to ever sleep with Lydia, although one night before they were married, he did out of anger and frustration over giving up Emily.
Nikolas, still very much in love with Emily, and stuck close by when her immune system shut down and allowed her to easily contract meningitis. As Nikolas focused on Emily, Lucky and Lydia worked together to prove that Stefan had been trying to kill Emily when Summer was pushed instead. Lydia was able to get a confession from Stefan on tape, and Stefan was arrested. He was appalled when Nikolas refused to help him. Nikolas claimed that his uncle had become a different person when he'd tried to kill Emily.
Emily hovered near death and married Zander as a last gift to him before she died. But a dream in which she kissed and married Nikolas pulled her back from the other side, and she lived. She informed Nikolas that she wanted to honor her marriage vows to Zander, and Nikolas agreed to respect her wishes. However, they were caught on film when they nearly made love one night. When Zander saw the photos, he went after Nikolas. Nikolas was already in the hospital after receiving a beating ordered by Lorenzo Alcazar, who turned out to be Nikolas' major creditor.
Emily managed to stop Zander from beating up Nikolas and enlisted Jason's help in ensuring Nikolas' safety from Lorenzo. Initially, Nikolas plotted with Jason to kill Lorenzo. But Nikolas changed his mind and borrowed money from Jason instead. Stefan was not happy to hear that Nikolas had borrowed money from a gangster, but Nikolas said that Stefan had done the same when he borrowed money from Lorenzo Alcazar. Stefan then tried to kill Lorenzo in order to rub out the debt completely. After hearing about this, Nikolas informed Stefan that he didn't want anything to do with Stefan anymore.
Finally deciding to follow his heart, Nikolas filed for divorce so that he could pursue Emily. Her marriage to Zander was also floundering, and she was by Nikolas' side when he learned of Stefan's death at the hands of Luke. On the outside, Nikolas showed little remorse and even said "good for Luke" when the cops informed him that Luke had escaped custody. But on the inside, he felt quite guilty and saddened by Stefan's death. At Stefan's funeral, Helena repeatedly insulted Stefan and called his life a waste. But Nikolas told her to shut up and then, with heart-felt emotion, expressed his gratitude for Stefan's care throughout his life, despite the desperate choices that Stefan had made near the end of his life. When Luke sneaked to the gravesite after the service, Nikolas said that the Cassadine/Spencer war had died with Stefan.
Nikolas and Zander continued to fight over Emily, who took a step back from both of them. But she finally made her choice following the Halloween costume ball. When Emily ran off after confessing her love to Nikolas, Nikolas followed her to the cottage. He informed her that his divorce was official and took off his wedding band in front of her. Then Nikolas made love to her for the first time.
Emily and Nikolas happily spent time together in the open again, although they had to contend with Zander attempting to take his anger out on them on more than one occasion. Nikolas also discovered that Stefan's death had really been a suicide. Once Emily's divorce was final, Nikolas proposed. They announced their engagement to her family, along with his poor financial status. But while trying to recover his recently sunken freighter, it was discovered that a sunken ship that had once belonged to the Quartermaines of many generations past was underneath it. Supposedly the Courage sank while loaded with treasure.
Emily and Nikolas told the Quartermaines about the treasure and their intention for the families to split the proceeds. However, Tracy had other plans and hired Sam McCall to recover the treasure for her. Nikolas, in turn, hired Sam's father, Cody. A few days later, Cody's body was discovered in the tunnels at Wyndemere. Nikolas was arrested and put in jail. Soon, they figured out that Zander was blackmailing Ric into framing Nikolas for murder. Eventually Ric grew tired of Zander's threats and tossed him in jail after he provoked Nikolas into attacking him. Nikolas was then freed.
The treasure from the ship had disappeared by that time. Emily and Nikolas tracked the treasure to a hiding place where Helena revealed she had stolen the treasure for Nikolas. They got the treasure back from her and prepared to auction it off. However, the night of the auction, a fire broke out in the Port Charles Hotel, and the treasure disappeared. The auction attendees had to be rescued by helicopter from the roof. But when it was time for the last helicopter to leave, there wasn't enough room for everyone. Nikolas bravely gave his spot to Emily, who tearfully watched as the roof crumbled with Nikolas on standing on it.
Although everyone else believed Nikolas had perished in the fire, Emily refused to believe the love of her life was dead. A few days later, she was at Wyndemere, remembering the good times with Nikolas, when he walked through the door, somewhat battered, but alive. Emily filled him in on the fact that Zander had been killed in the basement by the fire. However, Emily, Nikolas, Ric, and Elizabeth all received letters from Zander stating that each person's significant other had killed him prior to the fire.
The group set about trying to figure out who actually killed Zander. Nikolas admitted he had confronted Zander in the basement before the fire and knocked him out. Then he had locked Zander in the basement and called the police. Ric had arrested Nikolas. However, Elizabeth soon confessed to a confrontation with Zander of her own. She was prepared to confess all to the cops, but Ric wouldn't stand for it. So Emily persuaded Jason to tell the cops that Detective Capelli had confessed to killing Zander before Capelli died. The case was closed …but not for long.
Clues began surfacing that Zander wasn't dead at all. When Emily went to visit the cottage she had briefly shared with Zander, he appeared in the doorway. He wanted to make a fresh start with Emily and claimed to have taken Nikolas. He tried to force Emily to sleep with him in order to save Nikolas, but couldn't go through with it, since it wouldn't be out of love. By that time, the cops had the place surrounded.
Nikolas, on the way back from a business trip, heard on the radio about Zander's return from the dead and that he had Emily hostage. Panicked, Nikolas tried to get back to Port Charles in a hurry. But he ran his car off the road instead. After Zander's standoff with the police ended in his death, Emily learned about Nikolas' accident. However, the police couldn't find Nikolas. Emily searched for days, but slowly realized that Nikolas was gone.
In reality, Nikolas had wandered away from the accident site to a nearby cottage where he collapsed on the front porch. The woman who lived there took him in. When Nikolas awoke, she told him her name was Mary and that she was his wife. She nursed him back to health and continually fed him the past that belonged to her real husband, Connor, who had been killed in the war in Iraq. Nikolas tried to swallow what she told him about his past, but things didn't seem to fit quite right.
As Mary befriended Emily and took a job at GH, Nikolas grew restless and ventured out more often. Although he knew about and had seen Emily from afar, he still didn't remember her. Mary attended Nikolas' memorial service as Nikolas listened from outside the church. Later, he took a job painting the church and met Lorenzo Alcazar. Alcazar was puzzled by the fact that Nikolas introduced himself as Connor Bishop. He offered Connor a job working for him. Mary tried to dissuade Nikolas from accepting, but Nikolas was intrigued and agreed to work for Alcazar.
Nikolas also tried to live in the present and look to the future by proposing to Mary. They were planning their wedding when Alcazar had Nikolas break into Jason's apartment. Nikolas got shot, and Alcazar had him patched up by a private doctor. Then Alcazar offered to send "Connor" and Mary on a trip. Nikolas was drawn to a brochure on Mexico and asked to go there. While in Mexico, Mary and Nikolas "renewed" their vows. While Nikolas was on the terrace of their room, Emily spotted him from the adjoining terrace. She confronted him later, only to discover he was suffering from amnesia and believed he was Connor Bishop. Emily was heartbroken but didn't reveal his true identity.
Back in Port Charles, Nikolas underwent hypnotherapy to regain his memory. He had flashes of memory, but nothing that made him remember Emily or his identity. However, he found himself drawn to Emily and gave in to his feelings one night and made love to her. Afterwards, Nikolas got a call that Mary had nearly drowned in the river. Guilt-ridden, he promised to stop trying to remember and told Emily their night together had been a mistake. However, it wasn't long before Nikolas wanted to remember again. Mary suggested that they have a baby to focus on the future. But Nikolas wasn't sure.
Emily found out that Mary was trying to have a baby and confronted her, threatening to tell Nikolas the truth. In the meantime, Alcazar provided Nikolas with a false history, courtesy of Mary, that painted Emily as a former lover who wouldn't let go of him. When Nikolas returned to confront Mary about it, he found she had taken an overdose of sleeping pills. Believing that Emily had already told him the truth, Mary called him Nikolas. Caught, Mary was forced to explain what was going on and tried to justify her actions. But Nikolas stormed out. He confronted Emily over why she hadn't been the one to tell him the truth first. She told him about her fear of driving him away by the shock of the truth because of the way Jason had left the family. However, Nikolas only saw betrayal instead of love in her actions.
Although aware that he was Nikolas Cassadine, he couldn't remember any of his life as Nikolas. He tried to drink away the pain and betrayal he felt. Lucky and Emily tried to convince him that they loved him, but he yelled at them to leave him alone and insisted that he felt nothing for either of them. However, when he saw them together one night, he punched Lucky. Lucky then had him thrown in jail for the night. Helena tried to have Nikolas committed so that he would be declared mentally incompetent and she could control the Cassadine fortune.
Lucky helped Nikolas escape, but Helena found him later. Emily blamed Mary and believed she had paired up with Helena. In the institution, Helena made sure Nikolas was drugged. Helena attempted to brainwash him into becoming a true Cassadine prince. Emily sneaked in as a patient and convinced Nikolas to only pretend to take his medication so that they could later escape. However, Helena found Emily before Emily and Nikolas could and had Emily drugged as well. Nikolas found Emily and got her out of there. Before they left, he remembered everything from his past. They hid in the Quartermaines' boathouse, where Nikolas shared the good news and they renewed their love for each other.
Nikolas and Emily were back together, but Helena was not happy about it. She and Tracy Quartermaine teamed up against the couple and cursed them. At first, Nikolas and Emily did not take Helena's curse seriously, but them Emily's health mysteriously started to fail without any explanation. To break the curse, the couple headed to the Garden of Aphrodite, located on one of the Greek islands. The curse was broken when they kissed in the moonlight. When Nikolas and Emily announced their engagement, Helena attempted to stab Emily while Emily was standing near the cliffs at Wyndemere. Nikolas arrived just in time to see Helena holding a knife to Emily, so he pushed Helena over the cliffs. Although her body was not found, Helena was pronounced dead.
Nikolas was arrested after he confessed to Helena's murder, but Mac let him out of prison briefly to marry Emily. While Nikolas was in prison, Connor Bishop returned to town. Emily had Connor pose as Nikolas to lure Helena out of hiding so the real Nikolas could be released from prison. On the night Helena resurfaced, Connor raped Emily. The plan had worked, Nikolas was released from prison, but the problems were just beginning for Nikolas and Emily. Emily struggled to look at Nikolas or allow him to touch her, because he looked identical to the man who had raped her.
Nikolas found a friend he could talk to in Courtney Matthews. Her marriage to Jasper Jacks had hit a rough patch as well. Courtney could not have children, so she and Jax hired Elizabeth Webber to be their surrogate. Courtney was upset over how Jax looked at and cared after Elizabeth, and Courtney felt like an outsider. Nikolas felt like an outsider, as well, because Emily was able to talk to her brother, Jason Morgan, and his best friend, Sonny Corinthos, but not to him.
Eventually, Nikolas and Courtney began an affair. When Emily found out, she divorced Nikolas. Then Courtney became pregnant. Nikolas and Courtney stayed together even when two paternity tests showed Jax was the father of the child, and they made plans to fight Jax for custody. Helena interrupted Nikolas' happiness once again by kidnapping a pregnant Courtney. Helena believed Courtney could be carrying the Cassadine heir. Courtney escaped, but soon after, she contracted a deadly virus and required an emergency c-section.
Courtney died after the emergency C-section, but Nikolas was reunited with her briefly and they pledged their love to one another. As Courtney was dying, Jax confessed that he had altered the paternity results. Courtney died with the knowledge that Nikolas was her baby's father, but she never got the chance to tell him. Jax, with the help of Carly Corinthos, kept the baby's true paternity a secret. Robin eventually learned the truth and told Nikolas. He immediately changed his son's name to Spencer as a way to honor his siblings.
Nikolas slowly adjusted to fatherhood and hired a nanny, Colleen McHenry. She had been secretly recruited by Helena to keep a close eye on the Cassadine heir, Spencer, and feed Helena information. During this time, Emily and Nikolas began to date again, but Colleen became obsessed with Nikolas and jealous of Emily. Colleen tried to get Nikolas' attention and drugged him one night and tried to seduce him. When that didn't work, she kidnapped Spencer on Christmas Eve. Nikolas and Emily tracked Colleen and Spencer to Colorado, but they were too late. Helena got there first and took off with Spencer to Greece. Emily and Nikolas arrived just as Helena was about to baptize Spencer and change his name.
Reunited with both Spencer and Emily, Nikolas found that life was going well for him, until he began experiencing unexplained rages and blackouts. Regardless, Nikolas moved forward with his plan to propose to Emily, so he threw a traditional bacchanalia, called the Black and White Ball. During the ball, danger ensued as mobster Anthony Zacchara made an unexpected appearance, along with the Text Message Killer. Jason Morgan, Emily's brother, witnessed Nikolas having an episode of rage, so he tied Nikolas to a chair and urged Emily to leave Nikolas to find safety. Emily refused and remained with Nikolas. Nikolas blacked out, but when he awoke, he was free from the chair, but Emily was dead. She had been strangled to death, and Nikolas feared he had killed her.
After Emily's death, Nikolas was in a state of deep despair, not knowing if he had killed her. The only consolation was his visits from Emily. She appeared to him often, but only to him. Through her visits, Emily convinced Nikolas to seek medical treatment. The diagnosis was clear; Nikolas had brain tumors that were causing the hallucinations, rages, and blackouts. They would be fatal if not removed.
Everyone around Nikolas expected him to have the tumors removed immediately, but it meant he would lose his visions of Emily, so he hesitated. Nikolas found someone he could talk to about his visions, nurse Nadine Crowell. Nikolas had to choose: die with the brain tumor and keep his visions of Emily, or have them removed and never see the visions of Emily again. He didn't like either option, so Nikolas made a secret deal with Dr. Ian Devlin to get illegal experimental drugs that would keep him alive without taking away his hallucinations.
As the rages continued, Nadine stuck by Nikolas' side. She had developed a crush on the grieving prince and was
happy to have any of his attention. She helped him remember exactly what he had seen the night Emily was murdered. Nikolas remembered seeing the presumed-dead Diego Alcazar, so he and Nadine teamed up with Jason Morgan to find Diego and expose him as the Text Message Killer. On the night Diego was discovered, Nikolas, Damian Spinelli, and Maxie Jones fought with Diego, and he strangled himself when he tried to escape. With a clear conscience, Nikolas was able to say goodbye to Emily and have the tumor removed.
Nikolas missed his visions of Emily, but he focused on his son and the clinic he had built to honor Emily. Even after the tumor was removed, Nadine continued her friendship with Nikolas and volunteered her time at the clinic. They worked together to get the clinic running, and they used the cover of the clinic to help investigate Dr. Ian Devlin, whose reputation as an upstanding doctor was beginning to crumble. Nikolas found out just how dark Dr. Devlin's past was when Claudia Zacchara washed up on the shores of Wyndemere.
Claudia had been stabbed and kicked into the water by Jerry Jacks. Nikolas nursed her back to health. In a feverish state, she confessed her involvement in the shooting of Sonny Corinthos' son, Michael, and she named Dr. Devlin and Jerry Jacks as co-conspirators. Nikolas was unable to turn her in, as she knew about the illegal drugs he had purchased from Dr. Devlin. Dr. Devlin had left town, but Nikolas refused to help Claudia any longer.
Nikolas and Nadine spent lots of time together, and Nadine was hopeful Nikolas would eventually begin to move on from Emily's death to fall in love with her. Although they did date briefly, the relationship remained one-sided. Then during a hospital lockdown, he saw a woman that looked just like Emily, except her makeup, hair, and clothes were different. Nikolas began to worry the tumor had returned, as no one else had seen her. During the crisis, Nikolas was determined to search the hospital for this woman, much to Nadine's dismay. It was a clear reminder that Nikolas' heart still belonged to Emily.
Nikolas was relieved and fascinated to discover the Emily look-alike was real. Her name was Rebecca Shaw, and Nikolas was infatuated with her, as was everyone that had been close to Emily. She was Emily's twin sister. They had been separated at birth. It was no coincidence Rebecca was in Port Charles. She and her lover/accomplice, Ethan Lovett, were after the Cassadine and Quatermaine money. They planned to use everyone's grief over Emily as a way for Rebecca to get her hands on the money.
Rebecca let herself be taken in by the Quartermaines and got a position at General Hospital. Although the plan was for her to seduce Nikolas, Rebecca preferred spending time with Nikolas' brother, Lucky Spencer, instead. Both Elizabeth and Nikolas had a hard time seeing Rebecca and Lucky together. One night at Jake's, Elizabeth and Nikolas had endured enough of seeing the two flirting so they shared a kiss to make the others jealous. They were both surprised by the kiss, as they had been friends for years and had never thought of one another romantically.
With time, Lucky and Elizabeth got back on track, and Rebecca and Nikolas started dating. It had been Rebecca's plan to become close to Nikolas, but she developed real feelings for him and decided to end things with her secret boyfriend, Ethan Lovett. Before she could confess to Nikolas, Lucky found out about her plan and told Nikolas. Nikolas continued to string Rebecca along until he knew she was in love with him. Then he broke up with her. Nikolas was not in love with Rebecca. He still had his forbidden kiss with Elizabeth on his mind.
Elizabeth was engaged to Lucky, but she was thinking about Nikolas in return. In time, they secretly began an affair, which Rebecca found out about and threatened to expose to Lucky. Instead, she left town, and Elizabeth and Nikolas continued their forbidden romance. Eventually, Lucky found out about the affair and ended his engagement to Elizabeth. Nikolas and Elizabeth felt horrible about what they had done to Lucky and were unable to continue seeing one another.
Then Elizabeth found out she was pregnant. Helena found out Nikolas could be the father and got her hands on the paternity results. Although Lucky was listed as the father, Helena arranged for Nikolas to be listed instead. To Helena, it was a form of revenge to have a Spencer raised by a Cassadine. Due to the stress of the pregnancy Elizabeth checked into Shadybrook where she was visited by a man who later revealed him self to Nikolas as Valentine Cassadine. Valentine expressed hatred for both Cassadines and Spencers and sought to make both pay. He succeeded in kidnapping Elizabeth and soon both Spencers and Cassadines rallied to save Elizabeth and her child from Valentine but it was too late. Elizabeth got caught in an explosion and a body was found that was identified as Elizabeth and another was Valentine. Nikolas and Lucky's hatred for each other increased as they both felt that each other was responsible for her death.
On the return to Port Charles Nikolas and Lucky faced the wrath of Elizabeth's father Jeff Webber who had returned to Port Charles to help his daughter through her difficult time. Jeff wanted to band both Nikolas and Lucky from Elizabeth's memorial but Monica convinced him otherwise. Nikolas began to sink into a great depression after losing his love Elizabeth and his unborn child unbeknownst to him that the child was not his and Helena wanted to use his grief to fuel more hatred for the Spencers.
Nikolas would later meet Antonia Zacchara; Anthony Zaccahara's niece and they would bond and eventually start sleeping together. Tonya as she liked to be called had no intention on changing Nikolas's darkness and actually preferred which is what Helena liked but disliked her association with the mob. Nikolas would need Tonya when Valentine's lawyer Mykel shows up at Wyndemere and claims that the castle is now his thanks to some legal loop hole that granted Valentine the castle and in his death it reverted to him. Nikolas and Tonya try and figure out what Mykel is up to and soon find out that he is also Mischa Barton's brother. Tonya tells Nikolas that something else isn't right and she is correct. During a Fall Event at Wyndemere hosted by Mykel he reveals that he is intact Valentine Mykel Cassadine and that the Valentine they met was a decoy to see how Port Charles would react to his antics. Valentine reveals another secret, that he is married to a very much alive Elizabeth. Nikolas and Lucky can't believe their eyes to see their love alive and they both in their way try to free her from Valentine but she appeared to be brainwashed.

Brief Character History
All My Children
Skye arrived in Pine Valley as a singer and it was discovered that she was Adam's daughter by his first wife. She became the protector of her Uncle Stuart (who seemed to be the only human being able to love and understand her). She had an affair with Tad Martin before "settling down" and marrying Tom Cudahy. As part of an AIDS hate group, Skye set fire to the house where AIDS victim Cindy Parker lived with her son, Scott. When she learned who was inside, Skye decided to brave the flames and rescue those trapped inside. Overcome by fumes while trying to rescue Cindy, Skye fell into a coma for over three months. Skye regained consciousness, but upon doing so she learned that her husband Tom had grown quite fond of Barbara Montgomery. So, Skye decided to continue pretending to be in a coma. She later kidnapped Barbara, an action that prompted Tom to have Skye committed to the Oak Haven sanitarium, where she flirted with fellow patient Travis Montgomery.
Upon her release from Oak Haven, Skye took up with Pine Valley's resident do-gooder, Jeremy Hunter. However her eternal feelings of inadequacy and not being able to live up to Jeremy's expectations led her to drink, and she became an alcoholic. After successfully overcoming her addiction, her father, Adam, concocted a plan to use Skye to spy on his old enemy Palmer Cortlandt. Adam wanted Skye to date Palmer's nephew Will and thereby learn corporate secrets that would allow him to destroy his rival. Little known to them Palmer had the same idea to use Will to gain information on Adam through Skye. Slowly, the two spies fell in love and convinced their families that no useful information could be gained by continuing this maneuver. Adam and Palmer then forbade them from seeing each other, forcing them to set up secret meetings. With the threat of getting caught in yet another lie and not willing to give their relationship a chance, Skye ignored Will's pleas for her to stay in Pine Valley and decided to move to Minnesota to work with recovering addicts.
In an "off screen" development, Skye left for New York City where she met and married the villainous Dr. Jonathan Kinder. Upon finding out that Kinder was using experimental drugs on, and subsequently killing, his patients, Skye planned to report Jonathan to the authorities. Kinder found out, drugged her, and locked her up. When Kinder came to Pine Valley, he brought Skye along with him and hid her in a mansion outside of town. In a twist of fate, fellow town pariah, Janet Green, was captured by Jonathan when she became suspicious of him when she was his secretary, and found that Skye was being held captive. Janet didn't know that Skye was Adam's daughter because she was going by the name Toni- presumably short for Antoinette. While Janet went for help, Skye stumbled onto the Marick Estate and the Hunting Lodge. On this particular night, Dimitri was having an affair with his sister-in-law, Maria.
Subsequent to her gained freedom, Skye was introduced to Edmund Grey. Skye remembered seeing Dimitri and Maria making love, and Skye developed a crush on Edmund. Skye's crush turned to obsession. She thought if she could split up Edmund and Maria, Edmund would be hers. Skye bribed a lab tech, got access to Maria's paternity test and changed the father's name from Edmund to Dimitri.
After the birth of Maria's baby, Maddie, Dimitri was still believed to be the father of the child. Edmund never gave in to Skye's advances and got back together with Maria to raise Maddie. Skye made a promise to herself to tell Edmund that the baby was his. She tried telling him, but she just couldn't bring herself to say it, so she wrote it in a letter and sent it to Maria. Maria did not read it until she was on a plane on her way back to Pine Valley. Maria never got the chance to tell Edmund the good news; the plane crashed and Maria was killed. After Edmund returned home from the hospital, Skye devoted her time to helping him out. Little did she know that he was losing his hearing from time to time. Every time she tried to tell him about the paternity test, he couldn't hear her. Dimitri ended up suing Edmund for custody of Maddie and won. Dimitri took Maddie to the hospital for a check up and found out that Maddie's blood type was different than his; Maddie could not be his biological daughter. Dimitri found out that Skye had changed the paternity test and threatened to kill Skye if she told Edmund about the results swap. Dimitri ended up taking Maddie to Vadzel, his family castle in Budapest. While in prison, Erica revealed that Skye was up to something and she did everything in her power to find out what it was she was doing. Skye confessed that she'd switched the results. Edmund was crushed. He couldn't believe that he'd taken Skye into his life. Skye enlisted the help of her father, Adam, to help her make a clean escape from Pine Valley. Adam urged her to stick around and fight to clear her name. She didn't have the strength to fight and seemingly vanished into thin air, with the help of her dear ole dad.
One Life To Live
Skye showed up in Llanview in July 1999 at the request of Asa Buchanan. Asa hoped that she would help him destroy his enemy, Ben Davidson. Skye did this by using Asa's money to bribe a member of the Nevada Medical Board to revoke Ben's medical license. Skye got a job at The Banner, one of Llanview's newspapers, as Styles Editor and became friendly with the publisher, Victoria (Viki) Carpenter. She seemed especially interested in Viki's romantic relationship with Ben Davidson. The reason for this soon became clear. At a party, in front of all of Viki's friends and family, Skye announced that she was Ben Davidson's wife. Ben had thought the marriage was over, since they had filled out annulment papers, but Skye never filed them. Skye resisted all of Ben's attempts to get her to sign divorce papers and dropped another bombshell on Ben. The reason she didn't file for the annulment was that she was pregnant and they have a son together. But Skye soon admitted she was lying; they did not have a child, she just said that to try to hold onto him. Skye eventually agreed to sign the divorce papers and Ben was free to be with Viki.
Skye did not give up on her revenge plot against Ben, though, and blackmailed Max Holden into helping her destroy Ben's life. Skye learned that Max was not the real Buchanan heir and had proof to show the identity of the real heir. Max slept with Skye to convince her to keep quiet about the secret and Skye did keep the secret. She did not, however, keep the details of her relationship with Max a secret. She told Blair about it and Max subsequently left Skye. When Max saw that Blair was out to get him, he quickly put Skye back into his life to keep Blair in line.
Skye was arrested for shooting Max in the back. She was not guilty, however. Blair had shot Max and then Todd had placed the gun in Skye's room to make her look guilty. Skye got some unexpected support from police detective John Sykes, who was dating Rae Cummings and had learned that Skye was Rae's daughter. He convinced her to take a lie detector test, which she passed, and it was enough to get her out on bail.
Skye helped Max with his plan to get Todd to turn on Blair and admit that Blair was the one who shot Max. Max drugged Blair and made it appear they were sleeping together and made sure that Todd saw them. Their plan worked, but they got more than they bargained for. Not only did Todd admit that Blair shot Max, he also announced to a room full of people that Skye was really Rae's daughter. Skye didn't believe it at first, but after Adam came to visit her and admitted that Althea had adopted her as a baby, she knew it was the truth and wasn't happy about it. Once she was cleared of all charges by the D.A., Skye went to see Max and dumped him.
General Hospital
Skye asked Rae who her father was, but Rae refused to tell her until she talked to him first. So when Skye overheard that Rae was going to Port Charles to tell her father about her, she jumped on a plane and got there first. She tailed Rae to General Hospital and saw Rae trying to talk to Alan Quartermaine. Alan was very busy and put Rae off, so she showed up at the Quartermaine mansion that evening, just before Alan and Monica's ceremony to renew their wedding vows. The whole truth came out that Alan's father, Edward, had paid for the baby (Skye) to be taken away and both Alan and Rae were told that the baby had died.
Alan and Edward welcomed Skye to the family, but most of the other family members were not so happy, especially after Edward gave Skye shares in the family company, ELQ. When Skye's new sister, Emily, was in danger, Skye gave her money to leave town, partially to help her and partially because she was jealous of Emily's close relationship with Alan. But Emily didn't make it far out of town, when she was in a train wreck and ended up back in General Hospital, unable to walk. Alan was furious when he later learned about Skye giving Emily the money, but the two later reconciled after Alan accidentally heard Skye speaking at an AA meeting about what had happened. A.J. Quartermaine found out that Skye had given Emily the money and blackmailed her with the information. But as the new brother and sister became closer, A.J. and Skye began to work together to get A.J.'s son Michael back from his ex-wife, Carly.
Skye began falling for the corporate raider Jasper Jacks. He seemed to be the only one able to understand her and care for her despite the things she did to others. When he tried to scare her off by informing her that he didn't feel capable of loving a woman again, Skye took it as a challenge. She created several excuses for Jax to come to her rescue, including faking harassment by Sonny Corinthos. But Skye wound up locked in the boat house for real and escaped by swimming the frigid waters of the lake. Jax found her nearly frozen on the shore and used his body heat to warm her. They became a couple shortly afterwards.
When Edward wanted to take down Jax, he played on Skye's insecurities regarding her relationship with Jax. Skye signed an agreement to use her close relationship with Jax to steal information about his family's holdings. But when Jax proposed to her, Skye wanted out of her deal with Edward. Edward threatened to expose their deal to Jax and had a stroke while arguing with Skye at her engagement party. While Edward was in a coma, Ned discovered a copy of the contract and forced Skye to tell Jax the truth. Coldly, Jax dumped Skye and she went on a drinking binge. She blacked out and woke up later in Edward's room. The plug on his respirator had been pulled, and Skye feared she had done it in a drunken stupor. Afraid of being arrested for murder, she quickly fled and went into hiding. After tricking Edward into "waking up" from his fake coma and confessing that he had pulled his own plug, Jax found Skye and told her she was off the hook. He eventually forgave her and the pair resumed their engagement. After Skye and Jax exchanged vows, a ghost from Jax's past showed up to congratulate him: Brenda. She wasn't dead after all and had stayed away from Port Charles due to her mental illness. Not aware of Brenda's return, Skye was suspicious when Jax postponed their honeymoon to rush off on a secret business mission.
Jax got shot while protecting Brenda and was temporarily paralyzed. Skye finally met Brenda face to face when she found the brunette sitting at Jax's bedside. Upset and jealous at first, Skye was somewhat relieved to learn that Brenda was dying and didn't plan to try to win Jax back from Skye. Skye even encouraged Brenda to continue helping Jax in his recovery. But Jax didn't feel it was right to tie Skye to a crippled husband and enlisted Brenda's help in pushing her away. Hurt, Skye decided to look into Brenda's illness and prognosis. She discovered that the doctor who had diagnosed Brenda's illness had been paid off by Luiz Alcazar to falsely declare Brenda mentally ill. But Skye kept this piece of information to herself. When Jax found out that Brenda wasn't dying and that Skye knew, he demanded a divorce from Skye so that he could be with Brenda. Furious, Skye told Jax he was in for a hell of a fight. Feeling sorry for herself, Skye fell off the wagon and started drinking again. Eventually the divorce went through and Jax got engaged to Brenda. The night of their engagement party at the Quartermaines', both Skye and Alcazar showed up but were thrown out. They ended up in bed together at his hotel suite and Skye passed out afterwards. When she woke up, she heard Brenda arguing with Alcazar in the next room before passing out again. She awoke later to discover that Alcazar had been pushed off the balcony to his death. Seeking revenge on Brenda, Skye told the police she saw Brenda kill Alcazar. But her constant state of drunkenness discredited her testimony. Skye later became the prime suspect after the real killer got Jason and Brenda off the hook. Skye eventually remembered seeing Alexis Davis push Alcazar that night.
Still wanting Jax back, Skye went to his wedding with a loaded pistol in her purse, prepared to shoot the happy bride. But she watched in awe as Jax told Brenda at the altar that he couldn't marry her because she had kissed Sonny Corinthos the night before. Gloating happily, Skye went to see the jilted bride in her suite later to tell her she got what she deserved. Although Jax didn't return to Skye, he did come to her rescue a few more times. When Skye and A.J. kidnapped baby Kristina, Skye confessed her crime to Jax. Jax also helped Skye when Tracy came to town to blackmail Skye with the information that she wasn't a Quartermaine after all. Jax tried to charm Tracy into revealing the proof behind her claim. But Skye decided to just tell the family and Alan surprised them all by stating that Skye would always be his daughter. When Rae finally confirmed Tracy's allegations, Skye announced she no longer had a mother. Jax tried to cheer Skye by getting Ned to offer her a job at ELQ. Alan later legally adopted the adult Skye as his own child.
After bonding with baby Kristina during her kidnapping, Skye decided she wanted her own child and asked Jax to father it. He turned her down and Skye later found out that she wouldn't be able to carry a baby to term. Devastated, Skye became somewhat fixated on Ned and baby Kristina. Skye became a sort of surrogate mother for Kristina since Alexis wasn't allowed custody of her daughter. Skye tried to get Alexis out of Kristina's life for good by bringing over Alcazar's look-a-like brother, hoping that Alexis would freak out. But Alexis didn't react, which made Skye suspicious that Alexis was faking her illness. When Skye figured out that the new Quartermaine butler was really Alexis in disguise, she tricked Alexis into revealing everything, including faking her illness, to the judge. Alexis retaliated by getting Stefan to discredit Ned so that Alexis would gain custody of her daughter. When the girl Stefan had hired to accuse Ned of rape was later proven to be lying, Alexis was arrested for hiring the girl. During her trial, Ned tried to fight Alexis for custody and sued her for slander. But in the middle of the trial, he dropped his pursuit of custody. Furious, Skye then dumped Ned. She moved out the mansion and back to the lake house she had shared with Jax.
But soon Skye wasn't alone in her new abode. Luke had decided to hide out from the cops at the lake house and convinced Skye to help him continue to hide. Although she verbally protested, she continued to cover for Luke whenever someone came looking for him. They decided to pair up to dupe the Quartermaines out of money so that Luke would have some cash to go on the run with. But soon he happened upon the Dead Man's Hand. Skye didn't believe the old cards were worth anything until Jax reappeared in town in pursuit of them. Still having a soft spot for Jax and his family, Skye tricked Luke and gave Jax one of the cards that Luke had stolen from A.J. But Skye was less than thrilled to learn that Jax seemed to have a new woman in his life: Sam.
Skye saw through Sam right away and tried to get her to leave Jax alone. After the hunt for the Dead Man's Hand ended in John Jacks' death, Skye expressed her sympathies to Jax. Then she became partners with Luke and Sam in a new casino on the ship the Haunted Star. Luke managed to dupe Sam out of her ownership of the boat. When he found some money hidden aboard and used it to fund the new casino, Faith showed up and claimed the money as hers. So Faith became a partner in the casino as well. When Luke took off and left a note that he was "gone fishing" right before opening night, Skye was forced to work with Faith by herself. When the casino was robbed on opening night, Skye accused Faith of being behind it. In order to protect Luke and herself from Faith, Skye had Justus draw up a contract and made Faith sign it.
Luke finally returned to town and Skye chewed him out for leaving her to deal with opening night. But Luke had bigger things on his mind, including a sunken treasure which had brought Helena back to town. He planned to steal it on the night the Cassadines and Quartermaines were auctioning it off. When a fire broke out at the PC Hotel where the auction was taking place, Skye found Luke unconscious in a janitor's closet. She revived him and together they eventually made their way to the Versailles Room. Luke quickly took charge of the chaos there and made everyone draw numbers to determine the order they would be rescued by helicopter. Luke tried to give Skye his number but she refused. When it came time for him to leave, Skye ran out to the landing pad and gave him a passionate kiss goodbye. Later, after the fire was over and they were both safe, they tried to pretend that the kiss never happened.
Before the fire, Edward had altered his will to make Skye his sole heir despite not being a real Quartermaine. Thrown for a loop by the news, Skye nearly fell off the wagon again, helped by Tracy who wanted ELQ for herself. But Luke snapped Skye out of it and she vowed to take on Tracy sober. Since the Quartermaines were in danger of being held liable for the fire at the hotel, Justus and Tracy persuaded Edward to act senile in order to escape liability. But Tracy wanted to take full advantage of the situation and have Edward committed to a mental
hospital. So Edward escaped and Skye and Luke hid him at her lake house.
Their romance would always be paved with detours. When Luke married Tracy to get his hands on Helena's stolen millions, Skye realized that she and Luke were not destined to be together. She moved on with Lorenzo Alcazar. Initially the relationship was casual but both, having been hurt by people they loved, started opening up to each other. When a deadly virus swept Port Charles and Skye fell ill, Lorenzo made the decision to switch Skye's medical chart with Lulu Spencer's so that Skye would receive one of the few doses of the antidote that they hospital had. Skye would resent Lorenzo for risking Lulu's life for hers. Eventually though, Skye does forgive Lorenzo and they resume their relationship.
Skye was given a miracle when she learned that she was pregnant. Realizing what a gift she had been given, Skye was determined to keep her child from the violence that plagued Lorenzo, the baby's father. Lorenzo Alcazar was not happy with the decision and tried everything to convince Skye to reconsider. Skye refused and turned to Robert Scorpio for help. He managed to help Skye flee the country so that she could have her baby in peace and live in safety far from Lorenzo's reaches. They underestimated Lorenzo's determination. He caught up with Skye just as she went into labor. The birth of her daughter, Lila Rae, changed Skye profoundly. She realized that she had no right to deny Lila a relationship with her father. To protect that connection, Skye would make some heart breaking decisions that would drive a deep rift through her family.
When one of Lorenzo's associates took the Metro-Court hostage, Skye decided to protect Lorenzo's secrets not realizing that at that very moment her father, Alan, was inside the Metro-Court suffering what would prove to be a fatal heart attack. Skye was devastated at the loss of her father even more so when she realized that Lorenzo had lied to her. Thinking that Lorenzo had amnesia, Skye felt she had no choice but to temporarily run Lorenzo's criminal empire. It put both Skye and Lila in a very dangerous situation but more than that, it showed Skye that Lorenzo did not fully trust her. Skye decided to leave Lorenzo only to learn that he was not going to let her go with their daughter. Having recently lost his son Diego to mob violence, Lorenzo saw Lila as his last hope at happiness. He had his daughter spirited out of town and refused to let Skye know where she was. Skye grew desperate, fearing what Lorenzo's upbringing may do to their daughter. Skye felt she had no choice but to turn to Lorenzo's rival, Sonny Corinthos and her brother, Jason Morgan for help. Jason and Skye were anything but close but they both loved Alan so they were united in seeing Lorenzo pay for his role in his death. As planned, Skye pretended to reconcile with Lorenzo until she earned enough of his trust to decide to bring their daughter home. The moment Lila was returned to Skye she contacted Sonny and let him know. On the eve that Lorenzo intended to take Skye and Lila out of the country to start their new chapter as a family, Skye let Jason into their home. Skye was with Lila Rae, rocking her and singing a lullaby, while in another room Jason shot and killed Lorenzo.
Skye pretended that Lorenzo had left her and cut off all contact with her. Ric didn't believe her and eventually found a tape that recorded Lorenzo's murder. Unfortunately he failed to convince a jury. Skye stuck to her story that she had no knowledge of Lorenzo's murder and Carly and Jerry Jacks manufactured evidence that Lorenzo was alive and well.
In the aftermath of Lorenzo's disappearance, Skye was in control of Lorenzo's waterfront property, which was highly coveted by both Sonny and Trevor Lansing. Trevor was running the Zacchara organization and realized control of Lorenzo's property would allow them to better compete with the Corinthos organization. Skye was not interested in selling to either party. Trevor enlisted his son Ric in the pursuit of the property. He suggested Ric flirt with Skye to sway her in their favor. Ric was not sure if he wanted his brother or his father to have the property, but he did try to pursue a relationship with Skye. She was tempted by Ric's need for control and agreed they could be a power couple in Port Charles and they exchanged a few kisses. In the end she refused to enter into a relationship with Ric because it would lead her down the same path she had already taken with Lorenzo. Skye decide to leave Port Charles with Lila Rae, but she presented Ric with the parting gift of the deed to the property.
A few years later, Skye returned to Port Charles. Edward and Luke were thrilled, although Luke questioned why Skye was back. Skye was embarrassed to admit she was out of money and the reason for her return was to track down Lorenzo's hidden assets. Luke was intrigued by Skye's predicament and she agreed to give Luke a portion of the hidden money if Luke helped her locate it. Tracy was concerned when she learned Skye and Luke were teaming up together. Skye enjoyed preying on Tracy's insecurities and flirted with Luke in front of Tracy.
Skye stopped by the lake house where she used to live. Alexis Davis and her daughters currently lived there. Kristina was home recovering from the physical abuse she suffered from her boyfriend Kiefer Bauer, although Kristina had accused Luke's son Ethan. While Skye and Kristina visited, Skye realized a source of Kristina's pain was her feelings of guilt over what she was putting Ethan through. Skye took Kristina to visit Ethan and helped her mend her relationship with him.
Skye gets a phone call from an old friend from Pine Valley and she later ask Luke for a favor. When they return they appeared to be hiding something or someone in the Haunted Star. When Sam McCall gets attacked at the Haunted Starr its revealed that Aidan Devane, Robin Scorpio's cousin was the man hiding out. Skye informs Robin that her cousin was being suspected of attacking Sam so they both try and make sure he is cleared. Unfortunately Skye forgets to divulge that her and Luke helped Aidan escape police custody after being arrested for kidnapping Erica Kane's daughter Kendall Hart and her husband Zach Slater. Skye was called by her ex flame Tad Martin to help Aidan but it seems he was on his way back to prison. Skye asks her brother Jason to help Robin's cousin flee the town but Aidan need to thank Skye and Robin ends up getting him rearrested but thanks to a phone call from both Kendall and Zach he is allowed to go free but remain in probation in Port Charles. Skye ends up clashing and flirting with Det Ronnie Dimestico due to her involvement in the case but she also feels attracted to Aidan who to be busy crushing on Sam McCall. Skye continues her relationship with Ronnie despite the looming factor that he still was married.
Luke soon got a lead on a possible location of Lorenzo's fortune and left for Spain with Skye. Tracy tagged along fearing the adventure would bring Luke and Skye together. While tailing behind them she gets kidnapped by Alcazar associates and held captive in a cell with a young woman. The woman claims she was doing research on a project for school and she was kidnapped. Skye finds evidence that Tracy was following them and that something bad might have occurred so her and Luke try and find her and they do. The woman explains further that she believes traces of the Alcazar organization are still active and its dangerous to inquire about them. Luke, Skye and Tracy return to Port Charles unbeknownst to them that the woman was behind the kidnapping and in charge of the organization.
When Skye returns she begins to focus her attention on ELQ and Tracy decides to use Jax as a way to distract Skye but Jax doesn't feel right since he is on the fence with Carly. Skye finds rom

Brief Character History
Michael was conceived in 1997 but his mother Carly was not sure who had fathered her child. She hoped that the man she cared for, Dr. Tony Jones, was the father and allowed him to believe that the child was his. However, Michael's conception was the result of Carly's one night with A.J. Quartermaine. A.J. struggled with alcohol and initially did not remember his night with Carly. Eventually Carly's relationship with Tony fell apart and A.J. realized that could be the father of Carly's unborn child. She claimed that A.J.'s brother Jason Morgan was the father of her child and he agreed to go along with her lie.
When Michael was born, he required immediate heart surgery and Jason made the necessary medical decisions on Carly's behalf. Carly struggled with postpartum depression and left town shortly afterwards. Jason cared for Michael in her absence and named him Michael after his good friend Michael "Sonny" Corinthos. Jason continued to bond with the child and grew to think of himself as Michael's real father. Jason's girlfriend, Robin Scorpio, helped Jason care for Michael although she believed it was wrong for A.J. to be denied the chance to know his child.
Carly recovered and returned home briefly to care for her son. However, she had to leave Michael with Jason and Robin once again. Tony was devastated when he learned that he was not Michael's father and kidnapped the baby. When the court was lenient with Tony's punishment, Carly took matters into her own hands and fired a shot at Tony. She was sent away for psychiatric care.
Eventually Robin revealed the truth of Michael's paternity and Michael's parents, Carly and A.J., were married and they lived together in the Quartermaine mansion. The marriage quickly fell apart and Carly moved on with Sonny Corinthos. Sonny forced A.J. to sign away his legal rights to Michael and Sonny became his adoptive father. Carly and Sonny embarked in a tumultuous relationship that included several marriages and divorces to one another. In the process, Michael gained a half-brother named Morgan from Carly's relationship to Sonny and an adoptive half-sister named Kristina through Sonny's tryst with Alexis Davis.
As a young child, Michael was exposed to the dangers of Sonny's life in the mob and he grew up surrounded by body guards. In February of 2005, an enemy of Sonny's named Faith Roscoe kidnapped all three of Sonny's children, including Michael. As the oldest, he tried to protect his younger siblings until they were separated. Faith's accomplice in the kidnapping was Michael's biological father A.J. and Michael was delivered to him. He brainwashed Michael to believe that Carly and Sonny did not want him.
Jason tried to rescue Michael from A.J. and the men fought. During the scuffle, A.J. fell and broke his back. While A.J. was in the hospital, someone smothered him and he was presumed deceased. Michael started to have nightmares and imagined that he was the one who had killed his biological father. After therapy, he realized that he had only witnessed the crime. Asher Thomas, who A.J. had blackmailed, had done the deed.
Michael recovered from his time with A.J. and continued to emulate Sonny as he grew older. When the Text Message Killer was on the loose in 2007, Michael illegally purchased a gun to protect his family. However, when his father's fiancée Kate surprised him at the waterfront, he accidentally shot her. Kate survived, but Michael ran away from home. Michael eventually agreed to meet his mother at the warehouse that Sonny's enemies had wired with explosives. Carly and Michael were there when it blew up, but both recovered.
Michael's parents remained concerned over his interest in the mob. After Sonny stepped down and turned the organization over to Jason, Michael accompanied his father on a trip to the coffee warehouse to see the legitimate side of the business. However, mob rival Claudia Zacchara and hired sharp shooter Ian Devlin used the opportunity to take out Sonny but the bullet ricocheted and hit Michael in the head. He was rushed to the hospital and ended up in what was believed to be a permanent coma. Michael was sent to a long-term care facility in May 2008, where he remained comatose for nearly a year.
Neurosurgeon Patrick Drake performed a controversial experimental operation that got Michael out of his coma. Michael was shocked to discover that Sonny had married Claudia, who was pregnant with Sonny's child, and that Carly was pregnant by Jax. Michael struggled with his emotions and became enraged with driving. He thought that he had run Claudia off the road, which caused her to miscarry. Michael ran away to Mexico but Kristina tagged along. Kristina admitted that she had caused the accident and Jason, along with Kristina's sister Sam, brought them back home.
Michael bonded with his step-mother Claudia until he remembered that while he had been in his coma, she confessed to ordering the hit on Sonny and hiring the shooter which had resulted in Michael's injury. When Sonny learned the truth and publically confronted Claudia, she kidnapped a very pregnant Carly. Michael was the first to find the women and discovered that his mother had given birth. He heard Carly beg Claudia not to take her daughter. Michael burst in through the front door and saw Claudia holding his baby sister. He reacted by grabbing an axe handle and striking Claudia. The blow killed her instantly.
Michael's family agreed to cover up Michael's role in Claudia's death and Sonny went to trial for her murder. Michael was wracked with guilt and eventually told his long-lost older half-brother Dante the truth. As a police officer, Dante believed it was his duty to reveal the truth but assured Michael that the court would go easy on him. The judge agreed to be extremely light on Michael by convicting him with manslaughter but having him be on probation for his sentence if Sonny agreed to go to jail for his role in the cover up. Sonny agreed and Michael faced saying good bye to his father.
When Claudia's cousin RJ Zacchara came to town he was hell bent on making all that was involved in Claudia death pay. He immediately clashed with Michael not knowing it was Michael that killed his favorite cousin. When it was revealed that it was Michael, RJ made it his mission to either kill Michael or destroy him. Meanwhile Michael began a relationship with his cousin Maya Ward's half sister Zoe Butler and they hit it off. RJ tries hard to come between them. Michael also begins clashing with Kristina's new boyfriend Jamie Holt who also is his cousin. Eventually though him and Jamie become good friends and he approves of his relationship with his sister. Michael soon begins a great friendship with orphan Jade Hannigan who soon gets adopted by Robin and Patrick Drake. Michael and Jade share a undeniable connection and both Zoe and RJ see this. RJ tries to make Zoe think they are going behind her back but when it turns out to be a planned birthday party RJ decides to antagonize Michael and make him attack him and he does. Michael is arrested and the judge see's he has not changed and makes him serve out his sentence in jail with his father.
Everyone is devasted by the news but the only glimmer of hope is that Michael could graduate before he is taken away. To protect Michael and Sonny from Sonny's enemies in prison, Jason made a deal with the prosecutor and confessed to criminal activity so that he could be sent to Pentonville, with the proviso that he's share a cell with Michael. While in jail Michael was visited by Zoe and Jade but he began bonding more with Jade. He also had a therapy counselor in the form of Blackie Parrish. Soon thereafter, Dante pleaded with the judge to show lenience, and the judge capitulated. He had Michael released into Dante's custody, but before that could occur Anthony Zacchara had started a Prison riot which after it was over both Michael, Jason and Sonny were released thanks to their actions that lead to saving the warren.
Although Michael was released, he was on parole and was ordered to have minimal contact with his father and required to reside with Dante. His family wanted him to attend college but felt that he had nothing in common with his classmates and that they would not be comfortable around someone that had committed murder. Michael was more convinced than ever that he should work for his father so that he could eventually take over as his successor.
Michael did enroll in college after he was reminded of how much his siblings needed a positive role model. Michael did well in his classes, but he had issues with his roommates as one of them was RJ Zacchara. Michael and RJ clashed even more but luckily his other roommate his cousin Jamie helped him deal with RJ's antagonizing presence. Michael friendship with Jade Scorpio Drake reaches a new level as they start to feel more then just friendship and end up kissing. When they realize that both are not ready due to Michael's experience in jail they just decide to remain friends but then they walk in on RJ and Zoe after sex.

Brief Character History
Sonny Corinthos grew up in New York with his mother and stepfather. Sonny's stepfather was a cop who beat Sonny's mother and locked Sonny in the closet. When Sonny was a teenager, he became friends with a powerful man in the neighborhood who had Sonny's stepfather killed.
Sonny made his first appearance in Port Charles in 1993 as the owner of the Paradise Lounge, a strip club where Karen Wexler was working as a stripper. Sonny and Stone Cates lived in the apartment above the club. Karen and Sonny became lovers. One day, Jagger Cates, who was Karen's boyfriend and Stone's brother, found Sonny and Karen in bed together and beat up Sonny. Sonny put a hit out on him, but Marco Dane, Jagger's manager, offered Sonny a piece of Jagger's boxing winnings instead. Sonny's strip joint was closed down when Sean Donely learned that there were underage kids working there.
Sonny then started to work with Luke Spencer in Frank Smith's organization. He also began casually dating Brenda Barrett. Sonny helped Luke break Frank Smith out of jail, and when there was a shootout, Sonny took two bullets. As a result, he passed out while he was driving and crashed into Brenda's car. Brenda took Sonny back to his apartment and donated her blood to save his life.
Later on, Brenda introduced Sonny to her friend, Lois Cerullo. As it turned out, Lois and Sonny had grown up together. The three of them started a record company, L&B Records. Sonny also partnered up with Luke Spencer to open a blues club. A drifter, Mike Corbin, came into town, and Luke hired him to work at the club. It was later revealed that Mike was Sonny's estranged father.
Ned Ashton hired Mac to investigate Sonny, and by that time, Brenda had moved in with Sonny. After getting shot at in the shower, Brenda became suspicious of Sonny's career. Ned and Lois convinced her to wear a wire. But Lily Rivera had warned Sonny about the wire, so Sonny confronted Brenda and threw her out.
Stone later told his girlfriend, Robin Scorpio, and Sonny that he had AIDS, and when he became very sick, Sonny took money from an illegal account to pay for the medical bills. The two became closer at the end of Stone's life, and his death left Sonny devastated.
Just as Sonny and Brenda were about to reunite, Sonny discovered that he was being investigated for racketeering. He sold his shares of Luke's Blues Club to Lucy Coe and his part of L&B to Edward Quartermaine. Lily's father, Rivera, offered to make Sonny's trouble disappear if Sonny promised to marry Lily, so he did. But soon after, Sonny decided to run away with Brenda. His plans were put to a halt, though, when he discovered that Lily was pregnant. Unfortunately, Rivera thought that Sonny was leaving Lily and he had a bomb put in Sonny's car. Lily was killed instead of Sonny.
After his accident, which left him with no memories, Jason Morgan began working for Sonny. Later, Sonny ruined Jasper Jacks and Brenda's second wedding by bringing Miranda, Jax's wife, to the wedding. Everyone had thought she was dead. Sonny and Brenda reunited later on, but Sonny left Brenda standing at the altar on the day they were to be married, and left town. Jason led Sonny back to town after Brenda's death and the two determined to stay legit by starting a coffee importing business. Soon after, Sonny was forced to take back his territory, but he refused to let Jason help him.
Sonny then met Hannah Scott, a waitress at Luke's Club. She bore a striking resemblance to the love of his life, Brenda, but soon individualized herself as her own woman. After a brief courtship, they became lovers, and Sonny gave her his heart. He was devastated when Jason and Carly revealed to him that Hannah was an undercover FBI agent, assigned to take him down. He continued the relationship long enough to feed false information to the Feds, and then threw her out of his penthouse.
Out of pain for Hannah's betrayal, Sonny had a passionate one-night stand with Carly Quartermaine, who was reeling from the pain of thinking Jason was having an affair with Elizabeth Webber. The two had sex and Carly became pregnant. Sonny freed Carly and her son, Michael, from her loveless marriage to A.J. Quartermaine and moved them in to live with him. One night when Carly was at the Quartermaine mansion to visit with Lila, she and A.J. had an encounter on the stairs. A.J. had just returned home drunk, and the two began to fight. Carly then lost her balance and fell backwards onto the floor of the foyer. Carly lost the child and was devastated over the loss. Sonny took Carly and Michael to his private island in Puerto Rico so that she could recover from losing the baby.
A while after they returned home, Sonny's father, Mike, got into trouble with some loan sharks who happened to be working for Sonny's archenemy, Joseph Sorel. Carly tried to help out and she arranged for a meeting between Mike and Sorel. Carly hid in the closet and was shocked when Sonny took the meeting and the police showed up. Carly's testimony had the potential to send Sonny to prison. Alexis Davis, Sonny's lawyer, recommended that Carly and Sonny marry since spouses could not be forced to incriminate each other.
Although enraged at Carly for what she had done, Sonny agreed to marry her if it would keep him out of jail. A justice of the peace performed the wedding ceremony in Sonny's penthouse, with Alexis and Jason as witnesses. After many fights and rough spots, Carly and Sonny eventually realized that they liked each other, and decided to remain married and give each other a chance. Although they were falling in love, neither of them would admit it. After Sonny was shot and badly wounded, they admitted their love for one another and remarried in front of God in a chapel on Martinique.
The marriage went well until Sonny was almost killed again, this time in a warehouse fire caused by Sorel. Sonny realized that by being married to him, Carly would only be in danger. He tried to break off the marriage, but Carly wouldn't hear of it, and flew to Martinique. Sonny followed her with the intention of hurting her so that she would hate him, but Carly saw right through his plan and made him realize that they should be together. While in Martinique, they renewed their wedding vows.
After Carly again betrayed Sonny, this time by attempting to get him into the Witness Protection Program, Sonny broke it off with his wife. Sonny took off to the cemetery, where Sorel stabbed him. While Sonny was bleeding to death, Angel Ellis found him and took him to her lake house. There she nursed him back to health. Much later, Sonny learned that Angel was the estranged daughter of Joseph Sorel.
However, Sonny and Carly could not make amends and the divorce Sonny had filed for proceeded. Even though they were getting divorced, Carly agreed to allow Sonny to adopt Michael. Sonny then assigned Zander to watch over Carly. Meanwhile, a labor dispute at his Puerto Rican rum plantation caused Alexis and Sonny to fly out to handle the delicate negotiations. After the contract was pinned down, Sonny took Alexis out to get her to loosen up. Alexis enjoyed the feeling and found herself attracted to Sonny.
Back in Port Charles, Sonny got to meet the sister, Courtney, who he never knew he had. While attempting to build a relationship with her, Courtney temporarily resided with Alexis and Kristina. Kristina, Alexis' sister, had taken it upon herself to protect her sister from Sonny. However, she told Sonny that Alexis was in love with him. Sonny also had feelings for Alexis, and one night, they made love. As fate would have it, Carly walked in on them and then ran out of the penthouse. Her car later skidded over a cliff, and she was presumed dead. Sonny was grief-stricken at his loss, then overjoyed when she returned several days later. They reconciled, which effectively ended any budding relationship with Alexis.
Alexis discovered she was pregnant, but lied that Ned Ashton was the father, because she didn't want to stay in Sonny's world. Kristina found out the truth, but was killed in an explosion at Sonny's warehouse, which had been set by rival crime lord, Luis Alcazar. Alexis swore she would never forgive Sonny or his cohorts. When she gave birth to a baby girl, named Kristina, Sonny remained unaware that he was the child's biological father.
Sonny was busy dealing with his sister's marriage to archenemy, A.J. Quartermaine, as well as old love Brenda's return from the dead. She and Jason were tried for Alcazar's murder, but eventually cleared. Although Brenda and Sonny were close and shared a brief kiss, they knew that their hearts belonged with other people. Unfortunately, Carly saw their kiss and presumed they were getting back together.
Things between Carly and Sonny hit another snag when Faith Rosco's goon drugged Carly. Ric Lansing, her business partner, rescued her, only to take advantage of the situation himself. He led her to believe they'd had sex. When Carly discovered she was pregnant, she had no idea who the father was. Sonny found out about it, but he and Carly uncovered Ric's treachery and true motivations. He was Sonny's half-brother on his mother's side, who blamed Sonny for her death and had spent his life plotting revenge. Soon after that episode, Ric married Elizabeth Webber and claimed he wanted to end his bad blood with the Corinthos family.
Sonny was thrilled to have a new child on the way, but not as happy to learn that Courtney was dating Jason. After a brief period of anger, he accepted their relationship, and made plans to participate in their wedding. The wedding never went through because Carly was kidnapped. Sonny had no idea who was responsible. Soon, he learned that Ric had nabbed Carly and was holding her prisoner in a panic room at his house. By the time he and Jason burst in, Carly was gone. Luis Alcazar's twin brother, Lorenzo, had taken her, and would only release her in return for Sonny letting drugs go through his territory. Sonny agreed, but within a few weeks stormed Lorenzo's yacht to free Carly. The plan worked, until Courtney was taken hostage in exchange. Courtney escaped, but Lorenzo was still not out of their lives, for he had grown obsessed with Carly.
Alcazar tried to romance Carly away from Sonny and when that failed, he hatched a new plan. He made over a prostitute to look exactly like Lily, Sonny's dead first wife. Alcazar then had "Lily" haunt Sonny and convince Sonny that his wife and child would be hurt because of him unless he left them. Sonny came to believe in Lily's ghost so much that he bought Carly her dream house and told her that she would live there with the boys without him. Carly fought him during the whole process. But when "Lily" slipped up and told Sonny something from their past together that never happened, Sonny realized that it wasn't Lily he had been talking to.
On a stormy night, Sonny tried to find Carly, who had gone to look at the house by herself. As he approached the front door, he heard Carly scream from inside and kicked the door in. He saw Alcazar bent over Carly, so he shot Alcazar in the back. Alcazar fell to the side and Sonny realized that Carly was in labor. He helped her deliver their son, but when he held the baby up for her to see, he realized that the bullet had gone through Alcazar and into Carly's head.
Carly passed out and lapsed into a coma for a few weeks. Sonny stayed by her side as much as possible, but whenever he left, Alcazar arrived to sit with Carly. That infuriated Sonny, and he tried to get Alcazar banned from her room, but the doctors believed that Carly was responding to Alcazar somehow in her coma, so Sonny agreed to let him continue to see Carly. Desperate to protect Carly and his family from further harm, Sonny decided to leave the mob and handed the business to Jason.
When Carly finally awoke, Sonny was very relieved. But he didn't realize that Carly wasn't quite herself. While she had been in her coma, she had dreamt of an alternate life with Alcazar starring as her leading man and Sonny as the bad guy wanting to break up her marriage to Alcazar. The dreams were so intense for Carly that they prevented her from feeling the love she once had for Sonny and her children.
Sonny tried his best to be patient with Carly and reconnect with her. He took Carly and the kids to the island where she finally confessed her feelings, or lack thereof. When Carly was out of the room, Sonny took off to confront Alcazar. Carly called Jason to stop Sonny and then contacted Alcazar to tell him to get out of town. Instead, Alcazar stayed behind to set Sonny up for attempted murder.
Carly arrived on the scene to try to stop Sonny from shooting Alcazar, but she was too late. After shooting Alcazar, Sonny ran in front of a car and got the driver, Sam, to get him out of there. Sam drove out of town before finally pulling over. She coaxed Sonny to pour his heart out about Carly and their situation. Sam sympathized with him and told him not to give up on Carly.
When Sonny was arrested, Sam refused to state that she had been kidnapped. As the trial loomed, Carly grew desperate to help Sonny out of the situation she had put him in. She whisked Sonny off to France to begin a life on the run as a fugitive. But Sonny decided he needed to be a good example to their children and went back to Port Charles. After an emotional testimony by Sonny, the jury found him not guilty. Afterwards, Carly was telling off Alcazar for setting up Sonny when she collapsed. She awoke with her feelings of love for Sonny and her kids fully restored.
With Carly back in good health, Sonny made plans to start taking care of business again, since he never really left the mob. Sonny got on a plane to attend a business meeting. But before the plane could take off, Sam jumped on board as shots were fired at her. She convinced Sonny to take her to Azure Key, a remote island, in exchange for a piece of the treasure she was carrying. He agreed. While there, the plane experienced a fuel leak and Sonny and Sam were forced to spend the night in a shack together. Then a hurricane moved in, as did a particularly nasty man who had killed Sam's father and gone after her because she knew where the treasure was that had belonged to Blackthorn the pirate. When the man attacked Sam, Sonny saved her.
When Sonny returned to Port Charles, Faith Roscoe, the widow of a former mob enemy, drugged Carly and had her committed to Shadybrook. While Carly was there, Faith had her brainwashed against Sonny. Lorenzo Alcazar rescued Carly and took her to one of his safe houses to recover. Alcazar cared for Carly and confessed his love for her. Sonny arrived and overheard Carly admit she had feelings for both Lorenzo and Sonny.
Although Carly had not slept with Lorenzo, Sonny began sleeping with Sam. He enjoyed Sam's company, but he remained in love with Carly. In time, Sonny and Carly reconciled, but their happiness did not last. Sam was pregnant with Sonny's child. Jason and Sonny decided to alter the paternity test so Jason appeared to be the baby's father. Carly had her own secret. She knew Sonny was the father of Alexis' daughter, Kristina.
Sonny learned he had a daughter when Kristina needed a bone marrow transplant. No match was found. Alexis knew Sam was pregnant with Sonny's child and asked Sam to induce her labor early so stem cells from the child could be used to save Kristina. Sonny could not choose one child over another, so he allowed Sam to decide. She said no. Sam went into early labor during an argument with Alexis. Sam and Sonny's daughter died at birth. Kristina got the needed treatment and survived.
Meanwhile Ric continued his vendetta against Sonny. Ric knew Kristina was Sonny's child when he married Alexis. Sonny was livid that Ric would be raising his daughter. When Sonny discovered Ric and Alexis planned to purchase the Greystone estate, Sonny bought it out from under them. The feud between the brothers took a rest when Faith Roscoe kidnapped all of Sonny's children. Sonny had killed her husband. A special federal agent, Reece Marshall, was assigned to help find the children. Kristina and Morgan were returned home, but Michael was not. The kidnapper had faked Michael's death. Sonny and Carly heard a gunshot and saw a grave. A memorial was held for Michael, but he was alive.
Faith had a partner in the kidnapping, Michael's biological father, A.J. Quartermaine. A.J. was presumed dead, so no one suspected him. A.J. brainwashed Michael into believing Sonny and Carly did not love him or want him. When Michael returned home, he was very angry with his parents and wanted to live with the Quartermaine family instead. Eventually, Michael realized that what A.J. had told him was not true.
Michael no longer had to worry A.J. would take him again. A psychiatrist A.J. had been blackmailing murdered A.J. Reece remained in Port Charles at the request of John Durant, Carly's father. She was instructed to find evidence against Sonny. Sonny enjoyed flirting with her during interrogations and rounds of questioning.
The events of the kidnapping and Michael's faked death took a toll on Carly. Sonny dated Reece, which bothered Carly. Reece and Carly were childhood friends. Reese was in a serious car accident Carly had witnessed. Carly stole Reece's name and identity. Sonny sided with Reece instead of Carly after a physical altercation between the two women. Carly became confused and could not tell what was real. She became obsessed with Sonny. When she mistook Emily Quartermaine for Faith Roscoe, Sonny had her committed to Roselawn. Sonny's relationship with Reece ended when he learned she'd had a one-night stand with Ric.
While Carly was in Roselawn, Emily Quartermaine helped Sonny out with his children. Emily was divorcing her husband, Nikolas, because he'd had an affair with Sonny's sister, Courtney. Emily moved into Sonny's house and developed feelings for him. She kept them hidden until Sonny was infected with a deadly encephalitis virus. She admitted how she felt to him.
Sonny was interested in Emily romantically, but he was hesitant to enter a relationship with her due to his friendship with her brother, Jason. Sonny also struggled to deal with his relationship with Sam and Alexis. Sam learned she was Alexis' daughter. Sonny had impregnated both a mother and a daughter. He worried how his daughter, Kristina, would react when she was old enough to understand.
Emily and Sonny dated secretly. Emily was very concerned about Sonny's mood swings and drinking. Ric constantly pushed Sonny to drink and encouraged his rants and rages. Ric married Alexis, becoming Kristina's stepfather. Jason did not want his sister exposed to Sonny's dark moods and outbursts. Emily believed Sonny's moods were a result of a mental illness. She convinced Sonny to get medical treatment. He went to therapy and was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Eventually, Nikolas and Emily reconnected, and Sonny's affair with Emily ended.
When Carly was released from Roselawn, she continued her friendship and business partnership with Jax. Sonny was not pleased Carly and Jax had become so close. Sonny wanted to try again with Carly, but she was not as sure. Carly chose a relationship with Jax instead of Sonny, and became engaged to Jax. Sonny shot Alcazar in self-defense, and Carly was tangled in the legal mess. She had to marry Sonny so they could not testify against one another. Sonny wanted his fourth marriage to Carly to be real. She remained engaged to Jax. Sonny had already been cleared of the charges when he married Carly, but did not tell her.
The hostage crisis at the Metro Court Hotel made the bond between Carly and Sonny stronger. They were both held hostage by Mr. Craig, an alias for Jerry Jacks. Sonny used his influence and power to secure a safe release for Carly. She refused to leave Sonny. The two worked together to crack the code to a briefcase Jerry wanted. When they were released, Sonny and Carly divorced. Carly then married Jax.
One night, a woman from Sonny's past reentered his life. Kate Howard, the editor of a fashion magazine, used the phone in his office. Sonny had dated Kate as a teenager in Bensonhurst. Back then, Kate was Connie Falconeri. Sonny and Kate flirted, but Kate denied she was interested in Sonny. She bought the house next door to Sonny, yet insisted she wanted nothing to do with him. In time, Sonny and Kate began a relationship. Sonny took Kate back to Bensonhurst and proposed to her. She said no. Kate did not want to link herself to Sonny's sketchy reputation. After the rejection, Sonny had a one-night stand with a woman in a bar.
The woman Sonny had slept with was Claudia Zacchara, a member of a rival mob family in Port Charles. Claudia wanted to take control of her family's territory with Sonny's help. He was not interested. Sonny decided he wanted a life with Kate more than power, so he turned his business over to Jason. Sonny became a coffee importer.
Kate and Sonny took Michael to see one of Sonny's warehouses. Claudia conspired with Dr. Ian Devlin and Jerry Jacks to shoot Sonny. Sonny had beaten her brother Johnny. When Sonny sensed danger at the warehouse, he pushed Kate out of the way and tried to protect her. Michael was shot in the head.
Michael survived, but he was in a coma. The prognosis was not good. Sonny and Carly moved him to a long-term care facility, in the hope that someday there would be medical treatment to reverse the damage. On the way home from moving Michael in, Sonny and Carly slept together. Sonny signed away his rights to Michael and Morgan. He realized that even out of the mob, he was still a target.
Sonny and Jason searched for the shooter, but found more questions than answers. Kate forgave Sonny for his indiscretion with both Claudia and Carly. Kate and Sonny reunited and planned their wedding. Kate's cousin, Olivia Falconeri, arrived in Port Charles to be the maid of honor. On Sonny and Kate's wedding day, Anthony Zacchara, Claudia's father, shot Kate. He framed another rival mob member, Andrei Karpov.
In reaction to Kate's shooting, Sonny wanted his power and organization back, but Jason refused. Jason did not believe Sonny was thinking clearly enough to be back in control. Sonny turned to a rival, the Zacchara family, to gain power. Anthony Zacchara agreed to turn his organization over to Sonny under one condition, Sonny had to marry Claudia When Kate recovered, she was hurt and disappointed that Sonny went through with the wedding. Claudia moved in with Sonny. He was still in love with Kate, and Claudia began sleeping with Ric. Sonny was not initially interested in Claudia's attempts to create a real marriage.
In time, Sonny grew to respect Claudia. He learned how growing up with Anthony as a father had damaged her, and he appreciated her knowledge of the family business. Claudia fell in love with Sonny, but she was not able to let her guard down. Jerry Jax had hidden DVDs around Sonny's house that incriminated Claudia in Michael's shooting. Claudia knew Sonny would kill her if he learned her role in Michael's shooting.
Claudia planned to become pregnant with Sonny's child to save her own life. She compromised Sonny's condoms and continued to sleep with Ric. She attempted to sleep with Dominic Pirelli, a former Zacchara employee who worked for Sonny, but Dominic refused.
When Sonny learned Claudia was pregnant, he was not thrilled. He did not want any more children. Sonny was still grieving Michael's accident. Claudia visited Michael and admitted she had planned the shooting. Almost a year later, a medical procedure drew Michael out of his coma. Michael had vague memories of conversations visitors had shared with him while he was in his coma. Claudia worried Michael would remember what she had confessed. Sonny believed Claudia was being a supportive wife when she pressed Sonny to allow Michael to live with them. Claudia wanted to keep tabs on what Michael remembered.
Michael recovered, but another tragedy struck. Claudia was excited to show Sonny paternity results that proved he was the father of her baby. Sonny's daughter Kristina was driving without a license. She accidentally ran Claudia off the road. Claudia survived, but her unborn child did not. Sonny learned Kristina had been the driver, not Michael. He forgave her for the accident and worked with Alexis to hide what Kristina had done. Sonny and Kristina became closer. Claudia was upset Sonny did not blame Kristina. To cheer Claudia up, Sonny planned a birthday party for her at the Metro Court. Prior to the party, Sonny learned Claudia's role in Michael's shooting.
Sonny used the public event to expose Claudia. Claudia escaped by kidnapping Carly. Carly went into labor. Michael found his mother, his new baby sister, and Claudia at a deserted cabin. Claudia planned to take Carly's child, so Michael killed her. Sonny covered up Michael's crime.
The main suspect in Claudia's death was Sonny. One of Sonny's employees, Dominic, helped him burn any evidence of Claudia's death. Dominic was an undercover cop and secretly collected evidence to use against Sonny. Many Port Charles residents liked Dominic, and he bonded with Sonny's children when he was assigned to guard them. Sonny began to groom Dominic to take over his business, which disappointed Michael. Sonny discovered Dominic was an undercover cop and shot him. Olivia Falconeri ran in moments after and accused Sonny of shooting his own son.
Dominic Pirelli was actually Dante Falconeri, Olivia's son with Sonny. She had gotten pregnant as a teenager and never told Sonny or Dante the truth. Sonny prayed Dante would survive, and he did. Dante remained on the police force but lied about the shooting. He claimed he had accidentally shot himself and covered for Sonny.
The father and son reunion did not go smoothly. Each remained on their side of the law. A federal prosecutor, Claire Walsh, was called in to take down Sonny. She believed Michael was hiding something about the murder and asked Dante for help. Dante learned Michael had killed Claudia, not Sonny. Sonny made a deal with Claire Walsh that in exchange for taking the plea of obstruction of justice that she help Michael avoid jail time. Sonny was later sent to prison and made an emotional goodbye to his children and love ones.
Sonny's time in prison was made hard due to the efforts of Anthony Zacchara who wanted to drive Sonny mad. Jason though decided to call a close friend to help Sonny deal with his claustrophobia in prison, Dr. Kevin Collins. Kevin helped Sonny but Anthony was adamant about driving Sonny insane so he used his efforts to block Sonny and Kevin's session whenever he could. Sonny was soon put in solitary where his fears drove him insane. Kevin was able to later reach Sonny and help him through it but when Michael and Jason both end up in Prison he breaks down at the thought that he lead Michael into his world. Dante on the outside tries his best to get Michael out and he succeeds but Michaels release is thwarted by a prison riot conducted by Anthony. During the prison riot both Sonny and Jason save the warden and afterward are awarded a full pardon and release to their efforts.
Claire was happy to see Michael out but her bosses wanted Sonny back in jail for bigger crimes so while Claire worked with Sonny to take down Johnny, she also worked with Johnny to take down Sonny. Claire Walsh taped a conversation in which Sonny discussed his hatred of Johnny. She destroyed the tape. Sonny took Claire on a romantic vacation, and then broke up with her to pursue Brenda when she returned to town. Jason took Brenda to Port Charles when an international criminal known as the Balkan was after Brenda. The safest place for her to live was with Jason.

Brief Character History
Alexis originally arrived in Port Charles in 1996 to defend Kevin Collins for stalking Felicia Jones. She then defended Monica Quartermaine in the sexual harassment case that Dr. Dorman brought against her.
Perceiving Katherine Bell and her relationship with Stefan as a threat to her family, Alexis worked to convince Stefan that Katherine was his half-sister, Natasha, who had been believed to be dead. However, Stefan discovered her plan and wanted nothing more to do with her. To make matters worse, she then found out that she was the real Natasha.
Helena had murdered Alexis' mother, and threatened Alexis with the same fate should she not do Helena's bidding. Helena forced her to defend Tony Jones for kidnapping, which cost Alexis her relationship with Ned Ashton as well as her job at ELQ.
Desperate to get rid of Helena, Alexis teamed up with Luke Spencer and the two devised a plan to murder her. They set a trap for Helena, but Katherine Bell ended up stepping into it, and fell to her "death." Alexis defended Stefan when he was accused of killing Katherine, and the fact that she was his sister, not his cousin, was brought to light. Alexis then told Ned who she was and why she defended Tony, and Ned was upset that Alexis had not come to him with the truth sooner, but he understood and the two began to see each other again.
When Alexis learned that Nikolas was not the prince, she felt betrayed that Stefan had kept the truth from her for so long. With the Cassadine fortune up for grabs, Alexis decided to go after it with the help of Jasper "Jax" Jacks. But when she almost ended up dying in a plane crash that Helena caused, she decided that the risk was not worth it. She then decided to concentrate on building a life away from the Cassadines by focusing of her profession and her relationship with Ned.
When Chloe Morgan appeared in town, she immediately became friends with Alexis and Ned, as well as Jax. So when Chloe was in danger of losing her company if she did not get married within the next month, her new friends stepped in to help. Ned and Alexis decided that the best solution would be for Chloe to marry Ned. After much deliberation, Chloe decided to go along with the plan. Alexis, Ned, Chloe, and Jax flew to Las Vegas, the perfect place for a quick marriage. The only problem was that Chloe's Aunt Gertrude showed up, and claimed that the Vegas wedding did not comply with the legal definition of "happily married" as it was stated in the will.
In order to cover up the real plan, Jax and Alexis got married instead. To make it appear that Ned and Chloe's impending marriage was real, Jax and Alexis needed to make it appear as though their marriage was also real. They even went so far as to move Alexis into Jax's penthouse. Jax and Alexis became good friends while married, as did Ned and Chloe. The four finally divorced when Chloe's Aunt Gertrude caught Chloe and Jax together, which allowed her to take the company. Alexis immediately, at Ned's request, moved the elegant promise ring he had given her from her right hand to her left, which made them officially engaged.
With Ned and Alexis happily and publicly together again, Ned decided to restart his music career as Eddie Maine. One night while on tour in Detroit, Ned returned to his hotel room with an interviewer and camera crew doing a story on "A Day in the Life of Eddie Maine." All was going well, that is until Ned opened the door to find Alexis waiting on the bed for him wearing nothing but a teddy and holding a rose in her teeth. Affectionately nicknamed "Eddie's Angel," Alexis could do nothing to escape the press, fan letters, Internet sites, and emails. Attempting to end the fiasco, Ned proposed to Alexis because he thought that if they were married, the press would leave them alone. Unfortunately, he was proved wrong when their private wedding in Belize was discovered.
Ned then decided that the best way to get rid of the press was to give them exactly what they wanted, a publicized wedding. After reluctantly agreeing, Alexis and wedding planner Elton arranged a big public wedding, complete with press. After many obstacles, they finally made it to the wedding day. As Nikolas escorted her down the aisle, Alexis began to have nightmares about becoming a Quartermaine wife, and fled. Meanwhile, when Stefan returned home after faking his own death, Nikolas wanted nothing more to do with him and shut him out. He was furious about being lied to, and, instead of having Stefan take over as trustee of the Cassadine holdings, Nikolas gave Alexis the job.
When Ned's cousin, Emily Quartermaine became involved with Zander Smith, she arranged for Alexis to be Zander's lawyer, as he was in a lot of trouble with the law and mob boss, Joseph Sorel. Also, in exchange for his testimony against Sorel, Alexis' client, mob boss Sonny Corinthos, would give him protection in the event that Sorel tried to kill him. Sonny also agreed to post Zander's bail of two million dollars. On the night that Zander was released from jail, Emily, Zander, Alexis, and Sonny were walking down the steps of the Port Charles Police Station, when two gunmen dresses as police officers opened fire on them. Sonny jumped in front of Alexis, and he was hit instead of her.
At the hospital, Ned was relieved to see that Alexis was not hurt, and although he had not completely forgiven her for leaving him at the altar, they agreed to work on their problems. That didn't last long, though, and they continually fought. Ned felt that Alexis was choosing her career over him, and Alexis was trying to deal with her fear of commitment and marriage. They decided that the best thing to do was to call it quits to their four-year relationship and go their separate ways. After breaking up with Ned, Alexis channeled all her energies into defending client Sonny Corinthos against his various enemies. They lived across the hall from each other, and their similarly dysfunctional childhoods, along with a tendency to shut people out, caused them to bond.
In summer 2001, Alexis began searching for her long-lost sister, Kristina. Right before Kristin was murdered, she asked Alexis to go hide with baby Kristina. Alexis put the baby in the stables and then returned to the house, where Alexis found her mother dead. Helena had murdered Kristin by slitting her throat. When Alexis went back to the stable, Kristina was gone. With Jax's help, Alexis located her, and they had a joyful reunion, although Kristina soon spent her every waking moment nagging Alexis about her love life.
The main man in that love life was Sonny. Alexis found herself being increasingly goofy and shy in his presence, being hypnotized by his manner and looks, and slowly realized she had fallen in love with him. He played games with her, teasing and flirting, but he had feelings for her as well. Finally, in May 2002, they could no longer contain their emotions and had sex. Unfortunately, Carly saw them and ran out, then got into a car accident, which caused her death. Alexis and Sonny were guilt-ridden, and when Carly returned from the dead several days later--she had kept her status quiet for a period of time after recovering, but told no one about it--Sonny reunited with her.
Alexis stepped away from Sonny and his second chance with Carly. Then she realized she was pregnant with Sonny's baby. Making the circle complete, the next person to find out her secret was Ned. Ned confronted Alexis after he found out she was pregnant when her purse fell on the floor at the hospital and prenatal vitamins fell out. Alexis told him that the baby was Sonny's. Carly also found out by snooping around Mercy Hospital, where Alexis went to get prenatal care because she knew too many people at GH who might learn her condition and leak it back to Sonny. Carly found out Alexis was pregnant and confronted her about it. Alexis couldn't deny she was pregnant, and Carly figured out that Sonny could be the baby's father since their one-night stand together happened a month or so before. Alexis told her eventually but Carly agreed not to tell him, since she feared that Sonny would want to be part of the baby's life and since she was not able to really conceive right then, it was a threat to her own happiness.
Alexis decided to move out of the penthouse and also resign as Sonny's attorney. Sonny found out about her pregnancy and confronted her at her new apartment. Ned happened to be there but in another room. Alexis was speechless when Sonny questioned her about her pregnancy. Ned surprised Alexis when he entered the room and announced that he was the father. Sonny was a little surprised, as well, since Ned was involved with Kristina, but accepted it when Alexis didn't deny it. Sonny left them alone. Alexis decided to continue her prenatal care at GH since Sonny knew she was pregnant.
Alexis' life took a tragic turn when, after lying to Kristina by telling her that Ned was the father of her baby, and hurting her, Kristina found a notepaper taken from Alexis' journal that said that Sonny was the baby's father. Kristina left to find Sonny at his warehouse. Kristina walked into the warehouse and was trapped inside when it was blown up. Alexis got there and Kristina died soon after at the hospital. Alexis found out that the bomb was set up to kill Sonny at his warehouse, but Kristina went there instead.
Alexis blamed Sonny for her sister's death. She also blamed Jason and Roy for being involved with Alcazar's revenge. Alexis poured all her time into her work to stop thinking about Kristina. She got all stressed when she tried to help Luke Spencer with murder charges and ran for District Attorney to keep Scott from getting elected. She suffered from cramps and ended up in the hospital after debating with Scott. Scott dug up her one-night stand with Sonny and questioned her about it after she made cleaning up crime in Port Charles, starting with mob activities, her top priority.
Sonny had a blood test after he found out from Carly that Alexis admitted to her that Sonny was the father. He went to confront Alexis at the hospital about her lie, but the blood test showed that the baby wasn't his. Alexis learned that Ned took precautions and paid a lab person to switch the results. Sonny accepted the test results and left her alone. Alexis continued to try to bring Alcazar down for the death of her sister. When Alcazar was exonerated of all charges, Alexis was devastated and later confronted him when she saw him in the park. Alcazar refused to accept guilt for her sister's death and told her that it was her fault for sleeping with Ned and making her sister go to Sonny for answers. Alexis started to get strong contractions and asked for Alcazar's help. Alcazar refused to help her and left her in the park alone. Alexis couldn't find her cell phone so she could call for an ambulance.
Cameron Lewis found her and took her to GH. She started to go into premature labor and called for Ned. Cameron got Bobbie to get in touch with Ned. Cameron stayed with her until Ned arrived. The doctor told her she had to give birth immediately. Alexis panicked, since it was too soon, but Ned convinced her that she needed to give birth right away. Alexis gave birth to a baby girl, which she already knew. She named the baby Kristina after her sister. The baby had to be put in neonatal intensive care in an incubator and on life support. Alexis refused to leave the baby's side and pushed Ned away in the process. Psychiatrist Cameron Lewis tried to help her with her emotional well-being and allowed her to hold the baby at Christmastime.
Alexis had already pulled out of the D.A.'s race and decided to get back into some work. After agreeing to defend Brenda at Jax's request, Alexis hired Felicia Jones to investigate a witness who was testifying against Brenda for Alcazar's murder. When the trial didn't go well for Brenda and Jason, Alexis decided to bow out of the trial and take Kristina to John Hopkins for surgery. She was also in a custody disagreement with Ned, who she didn't want in her child's life after she caught him kissing a mobster's widow on the docks. Alexis reluctantly agreed to allow Ned to be part of Kristina's life when he threatened to take her to court and reveal Kristina's true paternity.
As Skye Quartermaine and others began to suspect Alexis killed Alcazar, Alexis became more and more unspooled. Cameron caught her going around town in a long red wig. Soon after, she held him and Scott at knifepoint. She was arrested for Alcazar's murder and claimed she had Multiple Personality Disorder, and that her alter, "Kristina," was responsible. Cameron realized she was faking, but kept quiet because of his feelings for her.
Alexis was declared not guilty by reason of mental defect, but paid a heavy price -- Ned was awarded custody and she had to face a long psychiatric treatment. A few weeks later, Edward took custody of the child from Ned, and backstabbed A.J. Quartermaine in the process. A.J. and Skye kidnapped Kristina as revenge. Alexis found her one day and re-kidnapped her, hiding out with her and nursing Kristina back to health even though her actions violated the court order. Her friend, and Cameron's son, Zander, and his Quartermaine girlfriend, Emily, stumbled upon her and agreed to take the baby back to the mansion, and never admitted she had any part in the situation.
Alexis still ached to be close to Kristina. Ned was spending time with the unstable Skye, who hated Alexis and also desperately wanted a family of her own due to infertility. Alexis decided she had to keep an eye on her daughter's welfare. When the Quartermaine butler, Reginald, was injured, Alexis showed up in full drag, including beard, and claimed to be an experienced servant named Dobson. "Dobson" was hired and, over the next few months looked out for Kristina, sparred with Skye, tried to convince Ned to give Alexis a chance at parenthood, and bonded with Emily. Cameron once again found out about this ruse because Alexis was missing her critical court-appointed therapy sessions, and he once again covered for her because of his feelings for her. Finally, Skye colluded with Alexis' therapist--not Cameron--and D.A. Scott to expose Alexis during a big dinner party. They announced plans to arrest Cameron for his part in the cover-up.
Alexis couldn't let a man who had done so much for her take the fall. She whipped off her Dobson disguise, admitted her MPD was a sham, and said Cameron had no knowledge of anything. Scott couldn't get to Alexis because of double jeopardy laws, and Ned blackmailed him into leaving Alexis and Cameron alone. Still, Alexis wanted custody of her daughter and to see her, no matter what anyone said. A restraining order was taken out against her. Kristina was rushed to the hospital and Alexis convinced Bobbie to let her hold the child while Bobbie shut off an alarm. Skye caught her and had her arrested. Alexis felt more isolated than ever, and took a job as Stefan's lawyer in exchange for him helping her get Kristina back. She saw the layers of hate and distrust between him and the boy he had raised--Nikolas--and asked Cameron to treat her -- for real this time -- so she wouldn't pollute her child the way Stefan had.
Eventually Alexis gained custody of her daughter again and began focusing on both her career and her daughter. With little time left for romance, Alexis was extremely irritated when she first found herself the focus of Ric Lansing's attentions. Unfortunately for Alexis, serving as Skye's defense attorney, for the murder of Detective Duncan, she was forced to spend some time with Ric, the prosecuting attorney. Ric, already aware that Sonny was truly Kristina's father, made it a point to seek Alexis out and seduce her. Ric learned quickly that suffocating Alexis with kisses was a quick and effective way of silencing her constant ranting.
It was also at this time that Alexis was confronted by Carly, who was looking at reconciling with her husband, Sonny. Carly wanted to tell Sonny that Kristina was his daughter so the couple could start over without any secrets, but Alexis begged Carly not to tell, and pleaded with her from one mother to another. Carly agreed to keep her secret, but had her reservations. Soon after, Skye was convicted, but Ric and Alexis continued to see one another in work settings, as Alexis went on to defend Faith for a short time, and then Nikolas on several occasions. Eventually the two became more than just enemies who enjoyed the occasional kiss, and a friendship formed.
It was that friendship that helped Alexis stay strong while her daughter faced a life-threatening illness. Alexis had taken several trips to GH with Kristina before Dr. Steven Lars Webber diagnosed her as having a form of leukemia. The only cure for Kristina was a bone marrow transplant with the likely matches--family members. It didn't take long for Steven to discover that Ned was not Kristina's biological father, though all the Quartermaines were tested, anyway, and he confronted Alexis. She refused to admit that Sonny was the father to Steven, but broke down and told Ric, who did not admit that he already knew.
Ric was immediately tested, but was not a match. Even after a confrontation with Carly, Alexis refused to tell Sonny that he was Kristina's father because if that became common knowledge, Kristina's life would continue to be at risk, though instead of leukemia, it would be bullets that killed her. Alexis continued to search for other possibilities while her daughter's situation grew grim. It became clear that Sonny had to learn the truth, but Ric had other plans first. Ric proposed to Alexis, in hopes that their marriage would give Alexis leverage when it came time for a custody battle with Sonny, which was clearly going to happen. But there was a catch--Ric refused to let the marriage be in name only; if they were going to get married, they had to truly try to make the relationship work. Alexis agreed.
At about the same time, Carly was admitting the truth to Sonny, even though she knew that her marriage would end with the confession. Sonny rushed to the hospital, where he confronted Alexis and learned of the impending marriage. It changed little in Sonny's mind and after being tested, Sonny continued to visit Kristina on a regular basis in her hospital room. He often told Kristina how she would come live with him when she was well, and was often chased out of the room by a very angry Alexis. While Alexis didn't want to make Sonny angry, she desperately wanted him to stay away from Kristina. So she begged Ric, who, deciding Alexis needed rescuing, called in a favor and had a restraining order placed on Sonny, to keep him away from Kristina. Hoping to soften Sonny up, Alexis let the restraining order slide on occasion.
In the meantime, all of Sonny's family was tested as possible donors. Not even his son, Morgan, was a match, and things looked worse for Kristina. Steven told Alexis and Sonny that there was another option; Sonny's unborn daughter with Sam McCall could be the answer. The treatment involved harvesting the unborn child's stem cells, found in the umbilical cord. But Kristina didn't have time to wait for the child to be born, so Sonny approached Sam and asked that she consider a two-week early delivery. There was a ten percent risk to the baby, and Sam couldn't justify that risk and refused to help. While Sam understood that Kristina would die, she felt she had to protect her baby first.
When Alexis learned that Kristina's only hope had refused to help, she ran to the chapel, where she found Sam praying alone. Alexis pleaded with Sam at first, but Sam still refused and Alexis lost it, insulting and guilting Sam until finally, in tears, Sam said she would do it. But just as Sam tried to tell Alexis she would do it, she collapsed in excruciating pain. The placenta had broken away from the wall, and Sam's baby would have to be delivered early. Steven tried to ease the tension by explaining that the emergency was not caused by anyone, not even a screaming Alexis. Ric comforted Alexis as she learned that Sam's baby had died, but then urged her to approach Sonny and ask for the lifesaving stem cells. Thinking of Kristina, Alexis worked up the nerve to ask the grieving father to save his other daughter, Kristina. After a heated discussion, Sonny agreed, and the transplant took place.
Kristina's health improved, and Alexis and Ric prepared to fight Sonny in court. As they prepared, Ric received an anonymous tip to visit the docks, where a file containing all the evidence he needed to book Sonny for extortion awaited him on a bench. Ric had Sonny arrested, but never made a copy of the file, which he had placed in a locked file cabinet in his apartment. Carly broke into his apartment and started a fire beneath the file cabinet and it appeared the file had been destroyed. Though his apartment had been blocked off to the public, Alexis managed to sneak in and steal the file, which, aside from a few burns, was in good shape. She used the file to attempt to blackmail Sonny; if Sonny had a change of heart on the stand, she would destroy the file. If he didn't, she would hand the file over to Ric and Sonny would be arrested.
Sonny agreed to Alexis' face, but had no intention of following through on the agreement. The court case began, and while things didn't look so good for Alexis, she felt confident that Sonny would follow through and have his change of heart. As the time came, Ric began asking Sonny the questions Alexis told him he would, but instead of a change of heart, Sonny adamantly proclaimed that Kristina belonged with him. As Alexis handed the file to Ric, Jason held the tape of John Durant admitting he stole the file in the first place, which made the evidence against Sonny inadmissible in court. Alexis begged Ric to prosecute Sonny, anyway, but Ric had nothing without the file. Alexis needed to face the fact that there was a very real possibility that Sonny would get custody of Kristina. Things went very badly for Alexis in court, especially after she tried to kidnap Kristina, but Sonny shocked her by agreeing to share custody.
Alexis and Ric nearly split up after Alexis learned he had known Sonny was Kristina's father from the beginning, and she began to believe he was only using her to get to Sonny, but the two reconciled. Kristina was kidnapped not long after, but Ric never wavered in his faith in Alexis, and convinced Sonny that Alexis had nothing to do with the kidnapping. Alexis also learned she was pregnant with Ric's baby, which left her out of the search for Kristina because she needed to rest. Ric and Alexis managed to rescue Kristina from Faith down in Louisiana, but were devastated to learn of Michael's death. Michael's death and Kristina's kidnapping convinced Alexis that her daughter was better off without Sonny in her life, but when she tried to fight Sonny on the custody, Ric would not go along with her, and when Ric confronted her about not going to therapy like she promised, Alexis realized Ric didn't fully trust her and wanted to separate. Alexis fled to London with Kristina, only to faces charges courtesy of Sonny when she returned. She joined forces with John Durant to bring down Sonny, and was thrilled to overhear Michael confess to Jason that he knew he murdered A.J., as it gave her leverage. After Ric learned that Alexis was draining the Cassadine accounts to bring down Sonny, he washed his hands of her, and drove the wedge even further between them when he insisted that Sonny didn't murder A.J.
Alexis was shocked to learn that Ric had been so adamant in fighting for Sonny because he knew Michael was the real killer and wanted a chance to try again, but Ric couldn't trust that she was finally over her vendetta with Sonny, so they decided to divorce. Things hit a snag when their lawyers wouldn't help them divorce until after the baby was born, so Alexis began pushing Ric to cheat so they could get the divorce quicker. Their marriage took a turn for the better after Alexis experienced trauma in the hurricane and was barricaded at the Quartermaine mansion, with Ric in attendance. Both wanted to reconcile, but still couldn't trust their feelings. Alexis was shocked to learn at Lucky and Liz's wedding that Ric and Reese had a one-night stand while she and Ric were estranged, but in the train accident that followed, Ric and Alexis were able to put all their differences aside as they welcomed their new daughter, Molly, into the world, and decided to really make a go of their marriage.
Ric and Alexis were both taken ill with the encephalitis plague that hit Port Charles. Alexis received an early dosage of the serum, enabling her to be able to go home with the girls, but Ric remained ill. As Alexis worried that Ric wouldn't make it, she confessed a secret to him that she had never told -- when she was sixteen years old, she had given birth to a baby girl, on May 11, 1980--Mother's Day. Mikkos had taken her to a private clinic in Chatham, Maine, then forced her to give her daughter up for adoption. With Ric's help, Alexis decided to search for her long-lost daughter.
Alexis found out that Sam McCall was the daughter she gave up when she was 16. Sam and Alexis had a rocky relationship, and they couldn't agree on Sam's relations with hit man, Jason Morgan. In August of 2006, there was a city-wide blackout. After having a fight with both Ric and Sam, Alexis went home, only to find her husband and daughter having sex on her living room floor. In an attempt to keep Jason from seeing that, she made him take her to the hospital.
She was diagnosed with lung cancer. Thinking she was going to die, she didn't confront Ric and Sam about what they had done, in order to keep her family together. Although Alexis initially refused chemo, she agreed to it in the end. After confronting Ric and Sam, she asked Ric for a divorce and alienated Sam. Ric quickly took Alexis to court in order to get custody of Molly. He even went as far as to arrest Alexis for smoking medicinal marijuana.
While at Wyndemere, Alexis met a charming man who she knew as James Brosnan. Little did she know that James Brosnan was James Craig, the man who blew up the MC, and Jerry Jacks, her ex brother-in-law. After he revealed his true identity, she became his lawyer as a favor to Jax.
Jerry pursued her relentlessly for over a year. She resisted a relationship with him, only indulging in the occasional kiss. In June of 2008, Anthony Zacharra threatened Kristina in an attempt to pressure District Attorney Alexis into releasing his son. Jerry promised Alexis that he would protect her and her daughters, and they made love. Many people, including Nikolas, Ric, Diane, Jax, Carly, and the PCPD, found out about it and expressed their disapproval. Alexis didn't care, however, and continued her affair with Jerry.
The mother-daughter relationship was still tenuous between Sam and Alexis when Sam flirted with Jerry. He told Alexis that Sam was pursuing him and Alexis asked Sam to stay away from Jerry. Alexis found Sam and Jerry kissing in Sam's hot tub. Sam claimed she was trying to find proof of Jerry's misdeeds by stealing his PDA. Alexis believed Jerry instead of her daughter and Sam was arrested when illegal drugs were found at her apartment. Jerry disappeared from Port Charles shortly after.
Mac Scorpio and Alexis worked together when a woman named Brianna Hughes was murdered. Brianna was Mayor Garrett Floyd's mistress and evidence was found that linked the mayor to the crime. When Mayor Floyd was arrested, he publically announced he was being framed by Alexis. Mayor Floyd revealed he had slept with Alexis and she wanted revenge against him because he would not leave his wife to be with her. Alexis claimed she had only slept with Mayor Floyd once, the night she found Sam and Ric together.
Kristina was most affected by having her mother in the spotlight and she doubted her mother had only slept with Mayor Floyd once. E-mails that were supposedly sent by Alexis to the Mayor were made public and they painted Alexis as a scorned woman. The mayor's wife, Andrea Floyd, continued to publically attack Alexis and the women had numerous arguments. Andrea suggested Alexis had been jealous of Brianna and was the murderer. Andrea planted evidence that supported her claim.
Alexis seemed more unstable when she confessed to being the driver in a hit-and-run. Kristina ran Claudia Zacchara off the road, and the accident killed Claudia's unborn child. Alexis confessed to protect Kristina and eventually the charges were dropped. Alexis was also cleared as a suspect in Brianna's murder when Robin Scorpio found evidence that proved Andrea Floyd was the killer.
Alexis was set-up on some dates with Mac Scorpio, courtesy of Robin, Maxie, Molly, Sam, Kristina, and Diane. The group arranged for Mac and Alexis to spend some holidays together and encouraged them to go on a few dates.
While Kristina encouraged Alexis to spend time with Mac, Alexis encouraged Kristina to spend more time with her boyfriend, Kiefer Bauer instead of her brother Michael. Kristina ran away with Michael to Mexico after Claudia's car accident. Alexis regretted her decision to support Kristina's relationship with Kiefer after she learned Kiefer had been abusing Kristina.
Kristina was severely beaten and taken to the hospital. Originally, Kristina claimed Ethan Lovett attacked her but Kristina refused to allow Alexis to press charges against him. Shortly after Kristina was released, Alexis finally learns the truth that Kiefer Bauer abused her daughter. By that time Kiefer mind began to unravel and he had already killed his mother and was on his way to attack Kristina and her new friend Jamie Holt. Kiefer is committed and Alexis doubts her parental skills that she didn't see what was happening to Kristina.
Alexis soon gets a visit from her half-brother Valentine Cassadine who vendetta against both the Spencers and The Cassadine reaches no limit. When Elizabeth ends up missing Luke gets Alexis to appeal to her brother to find Elizabeth but Valentine only gets angry at her for her betrayal. When Sam is attacked it is thought to be either Valentine or Aidan Devane but it turns out to be Keifer before he was committed.
Alexis gets a big surprise when Kevin Collins returns to Port Charles and believes Sam is his daughter Livvie Locke. Kevin and Alexis agree to undergo hypnosis to recall their past lives together and its revealed that they had a brief affair in the past and that Alexis had triplets after that. Alexis believes Mikkos blocked their memory and Kevin believes his ex wife Grace found out about Alexis's daughters and took one of them to pass off as her own. Alexis decides to meet with her daughter Livvie and they get to know each other in Paris. When Alexis returns she begins to deal with her Cassadine family drama
Alexis gets wind that her half-brother Valentine's attorney Mykel has seized Wyndemere and has taken up Valentine's vendetta. Alexis legally battles with Mykel but her she also deals with the fact that Jason and Sam have gotten married and its not what she wants. Also Alexis appears to be coming between best friends Kevin and Mac for her affection.

Samantha McCall (maternal half-sister)

Brief Character History
Kristina Adela Davis was conceived during a one-night stand between her mother, Alexis Davis, and her father, Michael "Sonny" Corinthos Jr. Due to the fear of Sonny's lifestyle as a known mob boss, Alexis moved heaven and earth to prevent the true paternity of her daughter from becoming public knowledge. When Alexis' ex-fiancé, Ned Ashton, discovered she was pregnant with Sonny's child, he proclaimed himself the father of the baby to protect it. When Alexis gave birth to a baby girl, she named the infant after her recently killed sister, Kristina Cassadine.
Alexis did everything she could to both protect her daughter and keep her daughter close. For a while, though, Kristina was placed in the Quartermaines' custody while her mother sought mental help for killing Luis Alcazar, who had been responsible for Alexis' sister's death. Then Kristina's "cousins," A.J. and Skye Quartermaine, kidnapped the girl; she was reunited with her mother against court orders, when Alexis kidnapped her from A.J. and Skye. Alexis eventually returned Kristina to the Quartermaines but dressed up in drag as a butler to be near Kristina. It took months for Kristina to finally be given back to her mother legally, at which time she received a proper, secure home.
In November of 2004 Kristina was diagnosed with a form of leukemia that required a bone marrow transplant. Dr. Steven Webber concluded that Kristina's best bet of a donor was from a relative, but after testing Ned Ashton, he discovered that Ned could not be Kristina's biological father. As Kristina lay in the hospital, her mother was forced to reveal Kristina's paternity to all who mattered, including Sonny. After Sonny's family members proved not a match for Kristina, another option was given, which was to harvest the stem cells from Sonny's unborn daughter with Sam McCall by inducing labor two weeks earlier than the due date. Sam refused at first, but Alexis pleaded and pushed for Sam to save Kristina, which eventually forced Sam into labor and saved Kristina's life at the price of Sam's baby girl dying at birth.
After Kristina's recovery from leukemia, Sonny and Alexis battled it out in court for custody. Alexis had married Kristina's half-uncle, Ric Lansing, to better her chances at wining custody of her daughter. After many ups and downs in court, Alexis agreed to a shared custody agreement with Sonny. Alexis still feared Sonny's lifestyle would eventually hurt Kristina and his other children. Alexis was not mistaken because right after that, Kristina was kidnapped.
At first Alexis was suspected, but shortly afterwards, Kristina's brothers, Michael and Morgan, were kidnapped as well. It was revealed that Faith Roscoe, along with Michael's biological father, A.J. Quartermaine, had orchestrated the whole thing to get back at Sonny. Kristina was eventually found and returned home where she learned the news that she would be getting a little sister. After the birth of her little sister/cousin, Molly Lansing, Kristina soon welcomed a big sister into her life when it was revealed that Samantha McCall was her half-sister through her mother, Alexis.
While still a young girl, Kristina walked into an ambush meant for her sister Sam McCall, Jason Morgan, and Damian Spinelli that was orchestrated by Lorenzo Alcazar, Luis Alcazar's brother. During the ambush, Kristina witnessed Sam shoot and "kill" Lorenzo's son, Diego Alcazar. Kristina went into complete shock and remained in a silent trance for weeks until finally speaking to wish her mother a "Merry Christmas." She then returned to her silence after seeing the presumed-dead Diego Alcazar alive as the Text Message Killer.
Kristina was heard about but not seen until June 2009, when she appeared as a 16-year-old who was caught underage drinking by her father's mob enforcer and best friend, Jason Morgan. Kristina as a teenager had become very manipulative and rebellious while still maintaining the picture of perfection to her mother. Kristina's feelings toward her father, Sonny, were of great disappointment that he hadn't tried hard enough to reach out to her or see her. When her brother Michael awoke from a year-long coma, she began to reconnect with her adoptive brother by showing him what he had missed. Kristina introduced Michael to her older boyfriend, Kiefer Bauer, which ended in a bar fight at Jake's.
As Michael and Kristina got closer, Alexis worried that Michael was not a good influence for Kristina due to his brain being slightly damaged due to the gunshot wound and the surgery, and Alexis asked that they limit their time together, especially after she found them at Jake's. Instead Alexis encouraged Kristina to spend more time with Kiefer.
When Michael began living with the Quartermaines Kristina began to visit her brother again and continued showing him the things he had missed out on. After another fight between Kiefer and Michael at the country club, Kristina took Kiefer back to her house, where Kiefer slapped Kristina after she refused to have sex with him. Kiefer apologized but continued trying to have sex with Kristina, who again refused, which made Kiefer mad and he left. Her sister little sister Molly was the first to discover the bruise on Kristina's cheek, but Kristina said she had just been clumsy. Afterwards, she drove back to the country club, only to be disappointed to see Kiefer with another girl. After confronting the two, she left very distraught. While driving, she got distracted and drove in the wrong lane and believed she had caused another vehicle to go off the road. She called Kiefer who had a change of heart and helped Kristina cover up what had happened.
Kristina's guilt began to eat at her when it was revealed that her stepmother, Claudia Zacchara, had been in a car accident on the same road Kristina had been on. Then her brother Michael confessed to causing the accident due to road rage. Later, when Kristina sneaked into the Quartermaine Mansion, she overheard her father mad with Michael and telling him that he had killed their baby brother that Claudia was pregnant with. Michael's guilt and regret led him to run away, and Kristina felt she was even more responsible and went with him to Mexico. Meanwhile Sam's suspicion of Kristina causing the accident grew stronger after Kristina took off with Michael and forensics placed one of Alexis' cars at the scene of the accident.
While Sam and Jason went after the teens, Alexis confessed to causing the accident as a way to protect her daughter. Sam and Jason weren't the only ones after the teens; Claudia had hired Alexis' ex-boyfriend and orchestrator of the Metro Court hostage crisis, Jerry Jacks, to find Michael and Kristina. Kristina and Michael bumped into Jerry in Vera Cruz, Mexico, after encountering trouble with some goons. Afterwards, Jerry gave the two a nice hotel room to stay in while he secretly planned a trap for Sam and Jason.
Michael and Kristina got away from Jerry's hotel room and fled to Cancun, Mexico, as planned. They worked at a store on the beach. Michael found a discarded cell phone, and they both used it to send a message to their parents, saying they were okay. Kristina began to feel homesick, especially for Kiefer, and called him, but another woman answered and hung up saying Kiefer was busy. Kristina was worried she had lost Kiefer and wanted to return home, but before she could, she revealed the truth to Michael that she might have caused Claudia's accident.
Sam and Jason returned Michael and Kristina to Port Charles. Kristina felt guilty when she learned her mother had confessed to the hit-and-run to protect her. Sam encouraged Kristina to take responsibility for what she had done, but Kristina went along with the decision her mother had made to cover for her. Claudia overheard Sonny and Alexis discuss Kristina's role in the accident, and she vowed to make Kristina pay. When Kristina apologized to Claudia for causing the accident, Claudia pretended to forgive her.
Sonny arranged for all his children and Molly to attend the hospital carnival together. Kristina received a warning from a fortune-teller that danger lurked nearby. Kristina tried to sneak away from her family to spend some time with Kiefer. Claudia wanted to talk to Kristina privately about her boyfriend and convinced her to go on a ride. While they were on the ride, Edward Quartermaine drove his car into the carnival. Kristina was trapped underneath the ride until Michael rescued her. Kristina thanked him and confided in Michael that Claudia had walked past Kristina several times while she was trapped but had not seen or heard her.
The relationship between father and daughter remained tumultuous for Kristina and Sonny. She was jealous of the bond Michael and Morgan shared with Sonny because he had been a constant part of their lives. Although Alexis had kept Sonny at bay while Kristina grew up, Kristina felt Sonny did not try hard enough to have a relationship with her and never had time for her. When Kristina learned Sonny was considering having another child with Claudia, she recommended he not bring another child into the world, since he could not be there for all the children he already had.
As Kristina continued to navigate through her feelings toward her father, she also worried she was going to lose Kiefer if she did not have sex with him. Kristina convinced Sam to take her to a clinic, and she obtained birth control pills. Kiefer took Kristina to a motel, and they had sex. Afterward, Kristina regretted her decision.
Just as Kristina started to bond with Sonny, she witnessed his public verbal attack on Claudia. She was shocked by the anger and coldness her father possessed. Kristina tried to talk to Kiefer about her father, but he was more interested in pressuring Kristina for sex. Kiefer struck Kristina after Sonny's bodyguards paid him a visit. The bodyguards warned Kiefer to improve how he treated Michael. Kiefer criticized Sonny to Kristina and blamed her for the threat the bodyguards had issued to him. Kiefer continued to abuse Kristina, and he was jealous of Kristina's friendship with Ethan Lovett. Kristina tried to make excuses to avoid being alone with Kiefer, but her sister and mother continued to push them together.
Kristina believed her father had killed Claudia after she was reported missing. Kristina slammed Sonny to Michael, which prompted Michael to admit that he, not Sonny, had actually killed Claudia. Kristina was shocked by the news. As she tried to process what Michael had done, she pushed Kiefer away. Kiefer responded with physical aggression.
Kiefer and Kristina broke up temporarily, and she pursued Ethan. He was older and did not reciprocate her romantic feelings. Kiefer and Kristina got back together. Kiefer became extremely violent with Kristina after she stood him up to make one more attempt at dating Ethan. Kiefer followed Kristina home to an empty house, and he attacked her. Ethan found her and took her to the hospital. Kristina named Ethan as her attacker but refused to file charges against him.
Kiefer was relieved Kristina had protected him, although Michael, Jason, Lucky, and Dante suspected Kiefer had abused her. Sonny threatened to make Ethan pay for hurting his daughter until Alexis convinced him violence would be detrimental to Kristina because she would blame herself for Sonny's actions. Kristina's fears regarding Sonny's retaliation were more prominent when she heard Claudia's brother testify at Claudia's murder trial that Sonny was abusive to Claudia.
When Kristina told Kiefer she was going to tell the truth about what he had done to her, he beat her and left her unconscious. Alexis found Kristina and rushed her to the hospital. On the way to the hospital, Alexis unknowingly ran over Kiefer. He died as a result of his injuries.
Kristina admitted that Kiefer was her abuser. Kiefer's parents were cruel to Kristina. They accused her of lying and blamed her for Kiefer's death. Kristina was released from the hospital, but she struggled with her feelings regarding Kiefer's death and the abuse she had suffered. The Bauers vowed to prove Kristina had lied and that Ethan was her attacker. Kristina also worried about the legal consequences the Bauers threatened against Alexis.
In order to help Kristina deal with the abuse from Kiefer, she started therapy. The therapy generated several questions Kristina had regarding her relationship with her father and his treatment of women. He attended a therapy session with Kristina, but it did not provide the answers she sought. Instead, Kristina turned to Claudia's brother, Johnny, to learn about Sonny's treatment of Claudia. Johnny told Kristina his sister's life was destroyed by Sonny's verbal abuse, and Johnny admitted he blamed Sonny, not Michael, for Claudia's death because Sonny had driven Claudia to become desperate and unstable.
